I'll never find the original poster but if you've ever suggested to someone to keep an extra fusible link on-hand, you are a beautiful person. I'm soooooo glad I saw someone mention that and took the advice and happened to have one on standby. Recently I've had to throw a decent amount of money at this thing to get a few issues fixed and when I took it out today to head to the muffler shop, it let me know REAL quick to turn around and go back home because something wasn't right. Decided to start with the fusible link and I'm glad I did because that was it! And because I had one lying around (buying ANOTHER backup as I write this), I was able to get it back up and running within minutes. Appreciate y'all OGs for the passed down knowledge!

Nice work. 👍👍

When it comes to 30 year old trucks in a very knowledgeable technical community, no one is really reinventing the wheel when it comes to basic maintenance.
thank you! Yeah it's one of the MAAAAANY reasons I'm sticking it out here and not wanting to get anything newer. Just recently got rid of my 21 4runner for a 99 hilux surf too. Everything is just so much easier to work on and there's a plethora of knowledge out there.

It lives there, tucked neatly into the carry handle of the battery, quietly waiting for one day in which it will be destined to shine brightly - and save the day. A quiet hero in waiting,...

Mandatory to have Fusible Link, EFI Relay, Noco, and Troubleshooting GuidePrinted in your Glove box.
If all that Fails drink the Flask.
And a what to do guide in case of a rollover.

What troubleshooting guide do you have?

If it Rolls over get a Buncha Pics for Social Media.

Then Get a Swazall and Start making your Dream Trail Buggy

Then Cry in your Pillow - because Unmolested 80s are getting very hard to Find.

I attached the Guide - Another Mud guy made it - I just made PDF to Share.

1) I don't do Social Media ;) other than MUD

2) My dream Buggy would have a tube frame

3) My 80 is far from unmolested 😁 and I have a clean unmolested one stashed in the back just encase.

4) Thanks for shearing.

5) Theirs a procedure to follow to start your truck after a role over, that's what I was referring too.;)

I'm assuming he's referring to a jump-starter, Noco is a brand that makes them.
You gotta Get a Noco for each Vehicle During Amazon Prime Day. I think they were $75.
Kids use it to charge their Phone Camping and I offer to let anybody get a Jump Start without Hassle.
It also has a LED light which comes in Handy.
Cheap Insurance.
*The Biggest one they make is Not Needed. The GB40 Works fine on Cruiser.
I charge it overnight in the House (Standard Android Connector) and Keep one in Each Vehicle with Several Phone Cords (Apple in my case)

I will agree, that it works very well. However, it only boosts my battery 3 times compared to my "Chinese" one from 6 years ago that I boosted numerous crappy batteries in sh!tboxes one a single charge and months between recharging.

I had one identical to this that isn't sold under the brand on amazon any more, until the battery got swollen and I retired it from permanent in-car storage. The heat from storing it in an outside car possibly killed it, but also didn't want it expanding and burning the car down with itself. (still worked BTW)

My Noco that works great, but low repeatability:

Good watch:
