Fuse box question

Thank you thank you thank you. That's a very well preserved cover indeed! I scanned all over the internet and I couldn't find a clean picture of this cover.

I'm good with using this photo, so you don't need to email it to me. Basically I'm going to tweak the existing artwork for the 73 to 77 box, so I don't need to start from scratch with a full scan. Artists may be starving, but they are still expensive in the Bay Area!

So, do you want the cover in hand? I can mail it to you if you need it.

Skip

Nope, I just got what I needed. Thanks again for your help.

When I made the 73 to 77 box, I never had it in hand either.

Guess what? I found out the fuse box circuit for the '78 box is identical to the '73 to '77 box except the radio fuse is shorter. Question for @Coolerman : Is it possible to buy a 5A fuse in the same width as the other fuses? If so, the same fuse block can be used for a '78!!!

Reviving this thread to answer Racers question about using his 73-77 fuse panel for the 78 FJ40's.

Short answer: YES!

I now stock the 5 amp (Brown) color coded fuses in the longer length so if you have a 78 and need a new fuse panel from Racer go for it!
Note I do NOT have the short 5 amp fuse in color (you could not see the color anyway as the end caps cover it) but I do have the 5 amp short fuses if you need them. See the web site...

Again resurrection of an old thread rather than start a new one....

During my electrical investigations I've noticed a crack through the fuse block.
It is the 78 version and the same as the opening posters photo with a small radio fuse located at the bottom of the block.

Firstly looking for clarification of my understanding.... This block of 78 is the same layout as previous years however the small bottom fuse location may be unique to 78.
For certain 79 onwards is a completely different block.
Correct???

Secondly a specific question.... This thread implies that its no longer possible to order a replacement from Toyota. Is that the case?

Thanks as always

good revive
Thanks Matt

A little more confusion that maybe someone can help with...
On post 16 you can see the top and bottom of the 79 block bolted on as you'd expect.
A couple of posts later a photo of a 78 shows only the bottom hole having a bolt in (most likely top just missing I know).
My 78 also only has the bottom bolt but what I find interesting is that there is no frame tab for the top bolt to fit too, in fact there is a tab but sticks out 90degrees to the other.

No signs of tampering or change (unlike rest of vehicle)
So..... Can anyone advise, especially if they have a 78 or earlier?
I'm wondering if it originally had a completely different fuse block.
