Furminator. Anyone ever try one?

I don't have any experience with the knock off but you can get a real one cheap on amazon: 404 Looking for Something? I have both and I think it's worth the extra money to get the one with the button- it saves time and makes the job easier.

Somebody told me about this fancy de-shedding tool for dogs called the Furminator.

I looked it up online and am shocked at the cost, but am still very interested in what it could do for my dog. Argo has really long hair and he sheds like a maniac. I vacuum almost everyday and brush him with one of those rakes, several times a week. It is still an ongoing pain in the ass keeping up with it, and there are always tumble furs rolling around the house.

Anyone else plunk down the fifty bucks for this thing? If it works as well as it says it should, I may break down and buy one.
They work great! I've got a Siberian and it keeps him thinned out pretty good. HOWEVER, if your pooch doesn't like to be brushed, he'll HATE this thing!

Ordered. Our Sib is just about 4 months. She does pretty good with our little brush now, but she is loosing her puppy coat now and can see a lot of shedding in the future.

Just used ours this weekend......Kodi is part German Shepard so sheds like crazy for two months out of every year and after he was done it looked like another small dog was sitting on the floor. Thanks god for good vacuums.

We have a Furminator that I use on my Rottweiler and its great. I Furminate before bathing and it cuts down on ALOT of hair in the drain.

We were taking care of a long haired German Sheperd for half a year and that Furminator saved my sanity.

We furminate regularly, in the kitchen - tile floor, easy to contain the 'snowdrifts' of white fur from two dogs. Got a shedding blade and curry combs and slicker brushes and all manner of other grooming implements... the furminator is the only one the dogs will actually walk over to get brushed with rather than having to corral them. Amazing how many times a month i can have four dogs in fur volume during the winter/early spring. this year being cool and damp, the blowing coat has somehow been extended. Usually by now it's just maintenance.

I have the version from Cabellas. Just as good as the furminator. It has made an amazing difference. I have a shorter hair dog that sheds constantly, which we can track easily with our Concrete floors in the Condo. It cuts sweeping down by 50-66% in terms of volume of hair.

There is also a new Product for pulling imbeded hair out of fabric in-case you have anything that holds hair like our couch. It is made by either 3M or Scotch and can be found on the walmart household cleaning supplies isle.

We've got one for our Husky/GSD cross, she sheds a pile, doesn't seem to matter what season really, just always shedding, lol. She doesn't seem to mind getting brushed with it, and the same could not be said of other brushes we've tried. We got a smaller one with the eject button for the 2 cats, the button is nice when you need to keep a hand on the animal to prevent "escapes", and the smaller brush definitely works better on the cats than the big one did.

I use one of these from Sonax on my cars and couch. It works much better than I dared to hope, it even gets those stiff Boxer hairs that penetrate and weave into the fabric.
