I'm new to this so I need some help thinking about putting a 4.8 fuel injected motor in my 87 I work at a fab shop and I do electrical work just not on vehicles how hard is this project will I have to get in lime fuel pump and what will I have to do with the new computer on th 4.8

Easy answer. Figure it out as you go and make it up. You will probably not find a step by step manual for this conversion. But, using ideas from other efi conversions you should be able to cobble something together.

This will be a very involved project. I would do some searching, I seem to recall that that engine will sit up higher then the 2.4 or 3.0, not to mention you should upgrade the drive line to account for the HUGE difference in HP and torque. Engine mounts, exhaust not to mention an entire engine wiring harness and ECU for that particular engine. This will not be a quick, easy or cheap retrofit. Good luck and keep us posted if you go through with it.

Thanks for the replys I found that nwor offers lots of kits to help swap motors they even program the Ecu to plug right in to the yota harness
