Did you make the trek down south for the new engine?

yeah, tell us the details

What Phil said...
It started out great, made a deal with Tim on the motor and some other little parts.
Went down to Tucson and got a set of factory wheels, still all was good.

Then...

On the way back, about 15 miles out of Phoenix, the trailer blew a tire. We think that we'll just throw the spare on and continue on, and were thankful we had cut the lock off of the spare earlier.
Get the spare on at dark-thirty and start out again.
NOT HALF A MILE LATER the spare blew out and we were screwed on the side of the 10. AAA doesn't cover trailers with our plan, so they wouldn't touch it.
Then, Steve calls Phil and thankfully, he comes to the rescue  with two of HIS trailer tires.

Again,
BIG thank you to Phil and Steve!

Sucks!:frown:
I just had a blow out on the motorhome on the way home from Yuma.
Tire changing on the interstate is highly over rated.

Thanks for the parts taxi down there too:cheers:

I only ever hear horror stories about trailer tire blow-outs

good summary there Phil

Today we stripped the frame in preparation for sandblasting/powder coating. It will go out on Monday.
Also pressure washed the engine block in preparation for paint.
The head is currently out being rebuilt.

Hey I know where the shop is in FH... maybe we should "occupy" outside until we get some updates. I'm sure he could use the "help"

At the risk of being occupied  here is an update:

Lift kit is in, axles are painted, and the head is back from being rebuilt.

Reassembly of the chassis is starting, plan to spend some time on it this weekend.
