This is a 1970 Toyota FJ40 with a newly rebuilt 2F motor (from a 1975 FJ40) and 3-spd transmission. The entire motor was gone through, replaced all bearings, rings, honed, valve job, complete OEM gasket kit, new clutch, throwout bearing, pressure plate, all new fluids, rebuilt carburetor, new battery... Everything was purchased new from Toyota. Also comes with a brand new stereo and speakers. The interior and underneath have all been ryno-lined. There is no roof or doors. Well, I do have bikini doors available.
Tires are all in great shape. Has some new Autometer gauges.
Runs great and looks great. No known rust. Garage kept. I just don't seem to find the time to drive it. When I do it gets a lot of attention.
Bear in mind this is a 39 year old vehicle so it is obviously not perfect. Just a fun FJ40.

I only have these pictures right now but can take plenty more if necessary.

If it was '76 or newer with top and doors you would be in the ballpark in my opinion.

Interesting. Thank you for your perspective

market does kinda suck for sellers. i'm in the market for a good 40 and if yours was around 3k i would look hard.

For $3000 I will keep it. While I understand these aren't the best investments, I refuse to give it a way. I find it hard to believe you can find a good 40 with a newly rebuilt 2F motor for $3000.
Best of luck my friend

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would get rid of their FJ40 .. but of course.. I don't have one yet!

Just for more perspective..
I recently test drove a pretty nice red 1981 FJ40, with all doors, hardtop, tailgate, tow bar, winch, roll cage, overhead console for the numerous Hella lights, etc.. He said I could take it for $10k. I seriously was thinking of it, but someone else test drove it a few hours later and snatched it up for $12k. :censor:

On ebay, an Athens, GA mudder's pretty nice 1978 FJ just sold for $10.5k

Also, some inside and under pics would be nice. And engine bay pics, and closer pics of the dash. Looks like there is some minor rust. Can you put up some closer pics of the rust areas?

Ok, Best of luck..

bump for a cool 40

I will work on getting some new pictures of it. I have some things taken apart so I need to put them back together before I can get her out of the garage to take pictures.

I don't believe there is any rust anywhere on the vehicle, but I will take a look and verify.

Jonny

No rust, rebuilt 2F... it's worth $4000 FOR SURE. Don't give it away...

i guess what i should have said is that my price range is around 3k and that i wish that's what you were asking. good luck.

Open for trades for a DD... Doesn't have to be a Toyota but preferably an import ;)

Also - the passenger seat is just placed in there, that's not how it usually looks.

I can work on getting doors and roof if someone is interested, but that will affect the cost...

much nicer pictures! that's a nice looking truck!
I'd say much better chance of getting your price.

Why are there 2 tire holders on the rear?

Best of luck..
