Chris,

I think that bumper is just about COOL!! I am very interested in its evolution and eventual production.

I think --and others-- that some plate over some of the gaps in the front would look good and provide some more protection and mass to the bumper.

I'd like to see some plate where I have indicated in the pic.

Crap! Can we still not attach pics??

Chris - ok. Sorry, was just curious on the tube selection. You folks certainly have more experience than I do. If you're trying to keep this as light as possible though, I would not add too much plate.

whoa!!!!......dont add much...keep it light and gusset......i want light. the option for HUGE bumpers is out there. stay the path. looking good.

The gussets are small and will reinforce the side wings. Adds just 3 lbs to the bumper.

does anyone know of a fabricator in the Denver/Boulder area who might be into creating a similar bumper?

hpantier-Check out www.offroadsolutions.com i have a similar style bumper on my truck that Mike made for the truck, sorry no digi or i'd post some pics, Brad.

I like the guseet Chris really clean work and looks nice,
trade you a well used arb for one!!

Yep, that's the one! Brad. :D

Brad,

What did that set you back if you don't mind my asking?

looks good. I like junk's idea about the upper wing/cross rail even if it adds a few pounds. A properly braced upper rail will help save the body from leaping wildlife. Also, a small detail, but I have noticed my truck has no hood rock chips. Since it has seen plenty of gravel roads I suspect the upper ARB rail deflects many rocks destined for the hood.

Is this what your were thinking about? I brushed on some side bars with a photo editor.

Oooooooo,

Very nice.

Have you weighed it? I know the "bars" are virtual but I'm curious what it tips the scale at now.

right idea but I think higher. I'd say just above the headlights from that angle, but it depends on how far they are away from the body.

Here is what it looks like higher up. I personally don't like it that high. I think the upper bar looks good on an ARB design. I think it look a little silly on this bumper.

Currently the bumper weighs 67 lbs including winch mount.
