Alrighty guys now the fun one! I tried my best to match up the before and after shots too.

This is what about 12 hours of Evaporust will do to nasty switches.

Side note the one above is my heater switch which I REALLY want to be able to use and has been in the longest. ( Can’t compare to the one @ToyotaMatt sent!) I cleaned it up before the first pic, so it’s kinda more an after and further after pic.

Guess what’s back from sandblastingggg

Props to the guys they did really well. There is nary any areas missed. Even the back of the dash looks good. Also to my surprise there is less areas that have rusted through than expected!
So that will definitely speed up this next process.

Also dad got to work while I grabbed supplies and got the tool box out. Just need to do some clean up work on it before it gets put on the new floor pans.

Alrighty with help from my dad we are getting the body work done to the cruiser. Soon all the unnecessary holes that were drilled in for miscellaneous PO stuff will be filled and made smooth again.

Also going to attempt large scale testing to see if I can make sure no rust is inside of the barn doors and also get the rust off the outside. Maybe I won't need to take these to sandblasting.Hope the evapo rust will stretch.

Hey does anyone have a source on these connectors? View attachment 2605349
The ones I bought (3 connector trailer) were definitely too big. (@ToyotaMatt maybe you got some?)

is that a trick question ?

1st generation RUBBER MOLDED YAZAKI ..........

harness side or device / switch side .......

thats the big deciding factor

Also both! I been without a heat all winter cuz I had no connectors for switch or blower motor.

Also no idea how it gets power to the switch either.

When you need a devise side rubber plug yazaki

A fully restored heater 2 step hi lo switch is attached ?

Bench tested and guaranteed to out preform any thing on the market used !

Ah I misunderstood! I have switch side. I guess I need the one that connects between switch and the blower motor.

harness side connector .........

For future reference to help myself a *large* number of threaded nuts are for M6x1.0 bolts or screws. I’ll do a count afterwards so I can properly buy the ones I want or need later.( At least 61. With a mix of bolts and screws)

While I’m in here tapping the holes I really got a chance to appreciate the dash and just how little it is touched. Aside from choosing a few non oem switches that the worst the PO did was four tiny screw holes for the cb catch. (Not counting the 8 holes around the tub for more antennas than normal)

Alrighty whose ready to see some *beautiful* readneck engineering? Since Im busy plugging away at the other tub and don’t have time to figure out how to *properly* wire up the blower motor I decided to just quickly toss something temporarily together so I can have some heat this winter/spring. (I literally have been without since I got the rig last march.)

Without further ado here ya go.

The fan the gives me airflow.
Worry not. I will do a proper set up on the other one. I’m just tired of my hands freezing to the wheel. XD

Edit- someone pointed out if I get the plug then I could run the blower motor itself. XD

Decided it was time to do a full fluid replacement. Started with tranny and it was just about as clean as when I changed it the first time.

Transfer case though? Peanut butter again. XD

Next up are the diffs. I’ll toss some pics soon.

Well I changed all fluids and popped in new spark plugs gapped at .031-.032ish.
Tranny gear oil looked good.
Transfer case gear oil was nasty.
Rear differential was greyish. (Probably a lil grease)
Front differential was good.
All 6 spark plugs were pretty good. Very little carbon and only one with a tiny but of buildup. If I were in a bind I wouldn’t hesitate to use them if I had to. (Not that I would but just to say they weren’t bad)

It was mildly fun to grind down a 15/16 socket to fit inside the block to get the plugs out.
