Good Morning!

I'm on the hunt for a set of U bolts for my '78 or at least one u bolt. I'm changing out my suspension bushings and the u bolt I took off last night is trashed and I'm not putting it back on. The fun part is that the truck is in the street and I can't drive it until I get a u bolt. Anyway holler if you have one or a couple laying around. Or if you have any suggestions on where I can find one locally. I hit up O-reilly, Advance and Autozone last night with no luck. Gonna try Tractor Supply this morning. Let me know! Thanks
I think I have some left over u bolts. Let me dig around and I’ll hit you up if I do.

Anyone have a good recommendation for a machine shop in Austin (preferably south) to resurface a flywheel for my FJ40?

Looking for a quick turnaround if possible.

Ian, AJ recommended this place last year and they turned my flywheel, same day.

O'Rielly on Slaughter did my drums in 20 minutes. Maybe they do flywheels.
Crazy…
Thanks for the info and also for reminding me I should be prepared to machine my flywheel.

You shouldn’t re-use U-bolts, they are designed to stretch and will loosen if re-used. Atlas Spring over on E 7th St made me a set when I took them my used ones for pretty cheap. Marks Off-road sells a good set for reasonable as well if you have time -

Next you’re going to tell us we shouldn’t reuse condoms…

I appreciate you looking out! I just needed something to get the truck mobile until I can get the new ones. Thanks to Ian for the win!

Don't use a parts store for a flywheel, they use a brake lathe to machine them. You need it done at a machine shop since the Toyota flywheels have a step, that step needs to be maintained for proper spacing of the flywheel to clutch.
