Since I didnt get a PM, I am just going to drive the 80 to Knoxville and drive around in circles drinking beer and eating mashed potatoes until I find your house. I'll roll the windows down and play rockie top if I have to. Mrs. Sharp will like the 80 much more, I promise, it comes with a sweet Appalachia Cruisers sticker and it has heat AND air conditioner.
We sold her 97 8 years ago. She's been wanting a 40 to ride the kids around in. Come on up and eat with us! The "mail jeep" is a 1960 fj25. Not big on how it looks like a CJ 5 (door openings) but I couldn't pass it up.

Does anyone have a spare H42 for a 1975 FJ40? I don't have a 40 yet but I've got a bead on one but the synchros between 1st and 2nd aren't what they need to be. Any ideas?

Apparently I'm not correct. a 40-series H42 is not compatible with a 60-series unit. Or at least not interchangeable.

For a 1975 FJ40 gonna need a H42 that will work with a non-split case. That rules out the FJ60s and later FJ40s. T-case change came about in mid-1980 I think. Now if you had a H42 + split case from ca. 1980 - 1984 it should work in a 1975 FJ40 except you'd lose the parking brake on the t-case, and the top cover may be different.

Sure do have an intimate knowledge of that JEEP for it to be sitting in the local PULL-A-PART yard

Can you say S C A M

I'm extremely curious as to how it's for sale considering I've tried buying complete rigs from them plenty of times and it's a resounding: NO!
That's definitely at the PAP.

Sounds like them boys think they got gold. Poor fellas.
