Why has no one thought of this sooner. I love this. Great color choice and the combo with the lights and that awesome grill makes it look so appealing. Great work.

That looks awesome, all of your prep really shows in the finish. Did you hand bend the outer bar that borders the steel mesh? And did you attach it via the 4 "tabs" that are left of the original grill? Again, nice work.

The bar stock was bent using a pair of vise grips and a paper template. The grill mounts to the surround using 8 mounting points. The 4 tabs are used to mount the grill assembly to the truck. Pics of the mounts here:

That is an awesome mod! I agree you should make more...you know there is a market for them (for us that are too lazy...I meam "busy" to make them ourselves:D) ! Cant wait to see pics after the truck is done.

Actually in all seriousness, if you (or someone else for that matter) can just make the screen with the ring and tabs, that would be awesome to sell!!!!

Then all we would need to do is cut up our grills, fiberglass, bondo and paint. I have to way to work with metal at home but I can do just about everything else!!

The TTORA folks have been doin this mod for years on the taco's. Looks really good on both, and w/ the trim piece and colored up shortbus it looks way :cool::cool:!!

Nice job TREE, and while i may be accused of being a fan of gray, i really like how the bumper turned out on a white rig.

Ahhh, why would the Tacoma drivers be more inclined to make a FJ40 style grill on their truck? haha. Cheers anyway.

yea, I've heard that story before.........at least your doors still opened

That was awesome! 1st time I ever met Nolen and, not a minute later, we're airborne. Good times :hillbilly:

Hey folks, I am re looking @ this mod in the context of a pending SC install.

I am looking @ possibly positioning a radiator for an intercooler in front of the radiator, plus already have a pair of PIAA's probably obstructing the air flow into the engine compartment.

Any thougths on whether this mod (without any badging) would increase the airflow through the grill & radiator ?

Grill looks great.

Were did you get those head light lens? They look like they would be brighter.
