I won't be working on it again until Monday. I got a staph infection on my leg and then became violently allergic to the antibiotics.

Yep, you gotta take care of that first.

Have a old customer from Norther Cal following this thread wanting the same instal...... maybe.

If you are going on a trip here, with your LC registered in Panama, you should be fine driving it here.

There is nothing like falling in Love all over again with your Cruiser. That is what will happen when you complete your conversion. Big cool factor too.

Amen to that.

Next is cleaning up the engine compartment and getting rid of unnecessary items in engine compartment.

Yesterday was spent taking the harness out of the donor vehicle. To get the harness out, the entire dash was removed.

Probably could have taken less of the dash apart, but I wanted the harness complete with out damaging it.

Both engines side by side. The wiring harness on the transfer case from the diesel was damaged from when the car was cut, so the wires from the gasser will be used.

Hello. It looks like you are having alot of fun there! Is the 1HDT a Turbo model and will the stock tranny bolt right up? What are you going to do for the exhaust? Having had two Power Stroked Fords, I love diesel power. Thanks.

Yes the stock tranny will bolt right up. I am going to use the one that came with the diesel one.

It is a Turbo model:)

I will have a custom exhaust made with aluminized tubing and a flex pipe. Big exhaust.

That sure sounds beautiful!!

And I'm sure it will too!;)

Just called the Oregon DMV and they say as long as everything from front to rear (engine to gas cap) is converted, all you need to do is fill out a little paperwork and change the title from gas to diesel. Legal for on-road use!:D

Up to now all that I've heard about 1HD swaps was that there's a lot of wiring needed and it is not easy. I have a feeling that these people are just trying to protect their own intrests. I guess I can understand, but in this community MOST people are open with their knowledge.

Robbie and RavenTai give tons of mechanic information all the time. I'm sure they could just say "bring it by the shop so I can get paid". But they don't, I neither would I if I ever gain that type of knowledge.

I really commend you for being very open and detailed about this swap. People are watching with wide eyes.

Now that you've determined that the engine / tranny is a bolt-in, it would be good to make a list of parts that are required from the donor vehicle. Most of us will not be able to get a half cut.

Great Job!
