Can I get an FJ80 / 3FE owner to tell me what color their 2 wires are going down to the OD sensor on the driver's side of the tranny, and then maybe tell me what color they mate to at the plug where it enters the wiring harness?
When I pulled my motor, that little 2-wire plug on the back left corner of the bock got snagged and the 2 wires were violently pulled out the backside of the plug. Naturally with the motor hanging from the hoist, I had bigger fish to fry and didn't notice which color went where, but now I'm putting the motor back in and can't figure it out.
This should be simple but its not - the 2 wires from the plug to the harness are Yellow and Red/Green, as all the schematics I've seen indicate, and I ohmed the Yellow back to the "Gauge" fuse so that matches the schematics, but the 2 wires from the plug down to the sensor are Black and White. The schematics show they should also be Y and R/G, but they aren't - maybe it was an aftermarket sensor? I could solve this mystery if I could get to the plug of the sensor down at the tranny, but when I unbolt the sensor cover, all I can see is those 2 wires disappearing into the trans fluid...I'd likely need to drop the pan to confirm which is which.
