Hi Everyone,
Has anyone had their rear heater stop getting warm?
Fan works and front gets warm but the rear doesn’t no matter the level of heat on the switch.

Thanks in advance!

Will

Now back to serious,
Is the piping towards the heater under the truck getting some heat ?

there is a lever to turn the heat/coolant flow on, is it on? it is located on the rear of the console
is the plumbing actually hooked up for the rear heater?

Its really common for the rear heaters to fill up with mud/muck/silt. If the piping is still in place (delete not done) then its very likely this is the issue. Remove hoses and flush with a garden hose.

Cripes, it's Lost Angeles, just tell your passengers to put on a sweater. If you give in now, next they'll want rear A/C

I went through this, PO used a lot of Bar’s leak seal in the cooling system and it clogged the rear heater lines as they are the lowest points of the system and are a perfect place for muck to settle. I had to remove them and jam the clog free. Hopefully your can simply be flushed clean.

1. Engine coolant never was changed on schedule
2. Rear heater was never used (for decades)
3. Rear heater’s thin coolant passageways corroded up so coolant can no longer flow through it
5. Rear heater now no workie
