UPDATE: These are available for sale now - Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60/FJ62 Cargo Side Panels (Pair) - Access Doors - American Adventure Lab - https://americanadventurelab.com/product/toyota-land-cruiser-fj60-fj62-cargo-side-panels-access-doors/
I started this project all the way back on December 25, 2016 on my last FJ60. At the time, I didn't have access to the machines I do now, so I never finished the project. It has been rattling around in my head ever since, so I have had a lot of time to think about it.
I picked it back up last night and threw some new ideas into CAD. There do seem to be some differences in the panels between the FJ60 and FJ62. Being that my current one is a 62, that's what I'll be building against with these new panels.
I have a big feature I'm hoping to add to these panels - the ability to mount an adjustable height shelf in the rear. We do a lot of those in the Wrangler world and I have been thinking of ways to accomplish this in the 60 Series. I think I can make that happen.
Current design:
If things aren't overly busy at the shop today, I'll cut these and get the first prototypes test fitted.
Here's the type of shelf I would like to get mounted in the rear (the upper horizontal part). It would be a little bit lower on the 60, to sit just below the top of the rear seats to stay out of view. It would be height adjustable, though, to fit refrigerators and drawers beneath.
