Holley retrobrights are pretty much the defacto answer on what headlights to get nowadays for the 60 and 62

Hey Dbbowen. Can't argue that I like the look of the retro style. But I wouldn't say they're the defacto as everybody wants something different. I went with these LED's for the ridiculous brightness, and more specifically the ability to have all four lights on at the same time (whether in low or high). But to each their own. I still love the halogen look.

But they are so damn expensive. $720 in lights for a 62 + $150 for new harness. I went with harness and Hella H1/H4 +50% halogen for < $450 all in. Lets me put $500 into something else on the truck.

Hey...as long as we can all see better at night, anything new is a win win lol.

@SirBeef - nothing specific - we have all seen cheap headlights that spew light everywhere. I just wanted a hood-forward shot showing how it lights up the side of the road and if there's a cutoff that prevents it from blinding oncoming drivers.

Thanks!

There’s a test on YouTube that shows the brightness and cutoff on the holleys is better than the other comparable LED sealed beam replacements. I run trucklites on mine and compared to my buddies retrobrights and the Holley lights are clearly better imo. I’m definitely switching haha

Yeah that’s the bad thing about the 62. You have 4 separate headlights to switch out Vs 2 on the 60.

Do you have a link for the items you had to get for this install with the Holly Retro / Hella lights?

If you get something please post or PM me. I am interested in this for my 62 but the harness part has me scratching my head.

Not sure if the harness that comes with the Kioto set from Toyota would work or if I need to purchase or make something else.

I really liked the Lumens replacement sealed beam unit. Uses stock wiring so with one minor change we got much better low beams for $300.

How do Cibies stack up to these newer options? I bought some a while back to swap in if i ever get my 60 back on the road and at the time they were supposedly the bee's knees.

What harnesses did you have to buy for the FJ62 to make the Holly RetroBrights install and work easily?

I have a 60 series so i just used a relay on each headlight to reverse the polarity. On the 62 i think theres a thread somewhere on here that someone talks about how to wire it up

Hey guys! Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for the nice write up! This kit came out really nicely and fits the FJ nicely.

I just wanted to mention that all of our kits are hand built, use glass lenses, include a 5 year warranty, and built in Las Vegas, NV. Unlike most headlights on the market (99% made in China and rebranded in the USA), we build every kit to the customers specifications and for their particular application. Nothing is "off the shelf."

Feel free to reach out and ask any questions. We're happy to help or help point in the right direction.
I ordered this set for my FJ62 and had issues from the word go. One low beam didnt work (worked on it several hours to figure this out), and once all plugged in low beams work, Only high beams work on High beam, with low beams barely visible (outers (low beam) are very dim where you can barely see them. They all worked correctly prior to install. Called Dapper and all Brandon would tell me was to "check the voltage."
