Of course, no trip to Sequoia is complete without driving through a tree tunnel...

Although we weren't nearly as high as we were in Colorado, we were feeling pretty awesome amongst the giant trees. I'm not sure what kinda good vibes they are putting out, but we were feeling no stress at all...

...which made our next stop almost mind boggling.

I was really looking forward to Moro Rock, which is a rocky outcropping that, if you hike out to the tip, you feel like you are literally a bird soaring above the surrounding mountains.

We were out much later than we intended, but we ended up at Moro Rock just before sunset. The side lighting was totally magical, and the mood was akin to Yosemitebear62's double rainbow sighting. Seriously, it was all I could do to keep my mind from boggling.

It is quite the haul up the 400 or so stairs, but each step is takes you further and further into the mind blown region of the HEL Chart, so you can't help but continue to see what happens...

Eventually, you reach the Pearly Gates and Saint Peter himself welcomes you into the Kingdom.

Looks like Ashley put the hammer down and beat you guys to the top!

She was flying up, and I was hanging back soaking it all in. Stephanie, on the other hand, was terrified that we were all going to fall off, so she was hanging waaaay back :D

There is a photo chick up top experiencing the same euphoria, and she has gone full YB62 and is crying/talking to some birds circling in the sky below.

Once we coaxed Stephanie out to the edge, she took our picture...

We even saw a rainbow of sorts. This was truly a magical day.

While the General Grant is quite impressive, the General Sherman is packing some serious wood, and is currently the largest known single-stem organism on earth.

I was initially offended by the appropriation of Civil War Generals' names as monikers for those giant trees, and I was going to initiate a petition to have them cut down.....then I remembered those are UNION generals' names, so I'm OK with it now.

Carry on.
