I don't have any pictures right now as my truck with the suburban console has been in the shop in Vancouver since October! I had a new automatic transmission put in 4 years ago and it went for a pooh. The shop was good enough to back their warranty, so I don't want to push them with the time. There was no problem with the rear heater, just had to bend the control lever down a bit. The consol is quite long, so if you fold the rear seat down at all, it might not be an option. My kids and dog are always in the back. If I get my truck back, I can snap some pictures. You can probably find one of these consoles for cheap enough at a wrecker that you can experiment. Jason

No stereo there yet but once I decide to put on a newone it will go in there.
Here are some pics of it installed
On the second pic you can see is off center (closer to the passenger side) This actually works pretty good as I can still share elbow space with the passenger.
Sure they pricey but I throw all my stuff there and not worry to much if I get broken into (knock on wood).

Just a few comparisons -
SOR: $246 - $310
IPOR: $285 (8" with cup holders)
CCOT: reg $268 on sale for $220 + $20 for cup holders.
I'm sure there are other places to look as well.

Find one you like, and paint it the color you like!
I have the exact same problem and I am working on a solotion to my console issue as we speak (i mean type)...I found a rattle can primer from a company that I have used in the past for small painting projects and have had tons of success with the past. The company's name is SEM, the stuff they make ain't cheap but it works really well if your trying to paint plastic (even the semi-hard plastic of the original console). I am currently trying to upgrade the wonderful tan interoir of my '83 FJ60 that has actually grown on me since I first bought it, but it just needs something more than brown and tan. Check out their site, I bought my paint from Westco, the guys at the counter spoke very highly of the product and so far I can see why...I will try and post some pics to show you how the paint worked for me later this week...Good luck on your search for the perfect console.

In European specs HJ60's (like mine) the heater is mounted between the front seats, and not under the passenger(?) seat as I see you US guys have it. It is a totally different heater, I think. The heat control lever for the heater sticks out of the console on the "rear wall", and the opening for the air is there also.
This means Tuffy is no-go for me?
