whats wrong with where the arms mount drew? i thought the tie rod might be a problem but after some measrin it'll be fine.

It should work spring under, but mounting the steering arm low, will make crossover steering problematic .

Plus, it mounts the rear tie-rod low and exposed. It's protected in 80 series by the radius arms. If someone made an 80 series knuckle with a top mount steering arm, like a 6-shooter only bigger, it would be helpful.

I would thank that 60 series axles would be a better fit, and beefed up with a Longfield 30 spline set, likely plenty strong.

Works nicely,
We have a 1973 pig that we just put 60 series axles under it, spring under. Yes you have to outboard the spring hangers but the disc brakes and wider stance make a world of difference on the pig.
I will be doing a write up soon with pics to follow.
Scotty at Addicted Offroad did the axle swap and we are very pleased with his work.

80 Front Axle is very tough! It can be made to work. There are a couple high steer kits out there, but they are no longer made. They were made by OTT.

I have some pics of an 80 front on my 55. It is 8" wider then stock.

You would? I think an 80 front axle would be a poor choice given where the steering arms mount. The rear could work though.
