Installed rebuilt H55F transmission / transfer case combo, with clutch and new driveshafts. I am not getting any power to the wheels. I suspect the clutch may be the problem. Any suggestions?

Did you place the disc facing the right direction?

There is a critical washer underneath the hi lo shift arm on top of the split case that pulls the tang inside the case UP into the shift fork. Without it, the tang will swing back and forth without moving the fork. One of my very first replies on the forum 20 years ago was to tell someone who has since become and old friend about this exact thing.

Looks like I may have the wrong flywheel. I have a stepped flywheel instead of a totally flat one. The disc is spinning freely with the engine running. Could this be the culprit?

I don’t think there’s enough room inside the bellhousing to put a diaphragm pressure plate on a 3 finger type flywheel and still get a throwout bearing inside the BH.

But if they cut the step off a flywheel intended for a diaphragm PP, you would definitely lose contact force.
