Everyone is so diligent about sharing there projects, I figure I should see if anyone would enjoy this one.

My goal was to be able to secure my refrigerator, have it easily accessible but not have to fasten it to the floor. That way my cargo bay has no permanent encumbrances.

Very interesting! My set up is similar, but haven't gotten to the frig hold down yet. I'd like to make a slide out and like you not drill into the floor.

How do you like the National Luna?

Good Job!

Hey Ron,
Compared to the 3 way Dometic that I have used for 30 plus years it's a world apart. I've only had it a couple months and taken a couple short trips. I installed a dual battery system with a 150 alternator. I did a couple tests.
1. Turned it on using 120v, got it cold and let it run on my group 31 AGM battery.
It ran for 6 days before doing an auto shut down. Thats more than enough time for my needs. I don't stay in one place for more then a couple or 3 days. Usually on the go every day. So recharging not an issue.
2. From the off position, I turned it on and hit the road. It hit the cool down temp in about 90 min or less that's with no food inside. It may or may not be louder than an arb. Don't know. Reviews are mixed.

Question for you... On the 12 volt socket for the frig, do you remember what size wire to the plug you used. I used Anderson plugs and will wire them to the frig side ( when I get it ). If I remember correct we used a 6ga. wire from the battery to a terminal block then ran a 16ga. to the Anderson plug.

Good info and thanks for the review.

My second battery is located behind the right rear tire, stuffed up inside that void. I ran #4 to that battery. Then #8 from that battery to a terminal block inside the body behind the right side cargo panel with #16 feeding the accessories.

Fridge note: I wanted a freezer. That was a deciding factor on the weekender

Ron
the #4 run was 12ft, the #8 run was 3ft, the #16 run was 16 inches. I put 20
20 amp breakers at each accessory plug, a 30 amp fuse on a new cigarette plug under the dash wired with #10 direct to the front battery and 200 amp fuses at each battery

Really cool project that I missed somehow!

I like the wiring you did on that side cargo panel.

Where did you get those clips for the cargo panel?

Can we see your alternator set-up? What alternator did you go with to fit 150 amp alternator?

What year is your Pig?

I think I got the clips from Aveco, a car fastener supplier. I'll verify that soon after I get back home on Friday.
Same with alt info and picture of it. I stumbled on the company and they supplied the offset brackets. But it took a bit of time to get the alignment. Have over 6000 trip miles since install and working great.
Pig is early 77 and bone stock other then a couple upgrades. Alt, 1.5 inch shackle lift and extra leaf in rear springs. All else is just luxury accessories.
Long live the pig

Why is it you don't hear of many '77 Pigs? It seems like there are lots of '74, followed by '69 & '73 & '72, then '76 and '78. Very few '77s...

Great idea on the easily remove-able bracket for your fridge slide. I was having similar thoughts on how I was going to mount mine in the rear of the pig and think this is an awesome way to go. Thanks for posting and the great idea!
