I agree. Sell the FJ55 kit with a drill bit to open the hole up to a prescribed ID before pressing in bushings. Two benefits:

Makes hole much closer to round, and allows increased wall thickness of bushing to allow a bit more strength when pressing in.

Follow up with another drill bit to "ream to size"

If that's the case, couldn't 40 series bushings be used similar to what Ige did?

I use the plastic SOR FJ40 door hinge bushings in the FJ55 hinges I rebuild, so YES, with a cleanup/reaming, it wouldnt be a problem. In some hinges the bushings fit really well, others not so much(I didnt ream-only sandblasted the holes). I have only ruined one FJ40 plastic bushing while trying to insert into the fj55 hinge.

Pay close attention to the shoulder thickness, cause there is no fudge room on the cast brackets, and given wear and machining tolerances, some are sloppier than others.

I'll take a set as well. I drilled out my hinges to 3/8th and ran a 3/8's rod through, flared the end with a ball peen and added a grease fitting they are as good as new, Alittle Nigro Engeering. (Don't get sensitive Im Black)

I can provide FJ40 bushings without any issue. What I was trying to figure out was are all the upper hinge and lower hinge FJ55 bushings the same? I would like to provide a hinge pin also.

Sorry, I am just getting no time. You want me to send you a couple of hinges?

Interested in bushing

I would be in for a set as well
