30 minute long "commercial" for Porsche where they are rolling out the new Panamera. Pretty interesting (no great though). All Porsches throughout the documentary except for one guy who drives out of his garage in a nice FJ40 on his way to rock climbing. Thought it was interesting that a 40 would make it in a P commercial! Says a lot!

Land Cruisers and Porsches... best you can get!

Welcome to the Family | Porsche Panamera

Thanks Steenh. The Land Cruiser is about 60% into the video. An oriental guy owns it.
I love Porsche's. I have a 2001 911 and that is a bad ride.

I'm on my second Porsche. 95 C4 Cab. Awesome machines... sure didn't expect the Cruiser to show up in that video though.

Very cool. they are awesome machines. Here's the one I play with.

Very nice! Gundy and I may get together sometime to do a run up in SC with his Sprite. Maybe we can get all the toys out.

beautiful!! I love the convertibles. wish I had one. Would love to do a ride in the mountains .

my wife needs to get her BMW 135i or a Vette before then so we can go too.....as she is driving the FJ Cruiser since she sold her BMW and refuses to get another payment for now. :( :(

Get on that Brock! times a wasting here!

I tried...she sold her last BMW and was suppose to get herself another and then decided she did not want a car payment for a year...so took my FJ Cruiser to use as her Daily Driver....and that is why I am pumping money and time into my FJ60 as she is now my DD. LOL

I am guessing she will get tired of me scratching the s*** out of the paint on FJ this winter and spring and get one next Summer...so will have to catch you guys later. Unless I sell the FJ Cruiser before then and get her one.

Porche had to swallow their pride and come out with the Panamera because BMW was killing them with the X5, X6 and now Motorsport X5 and X6.
Won't help though because the 5 series GT is going to crush the Panamera, watch and see.

And BTW the 135i is a monster. That motor is stronger than the old Z3 Motorsport.
They're all over the parking lot at work. The convertible is a masterpiece.

Not that I would ever spend $100k + on a car, I don't like the Panamera at all, and most Porsche enthusiasts don't either. I'm sure it's an awesome car once you are in it and driving, but it's butt ugly.

I've heard great things about the 135i... wanna let me test drive one for you? :grinpimp:

I plan on having a convertible in the near future. Though I plan on building mine.

ooooo... I thought about that years ago but never pulled the trigger. I was limited on time and skills but always loved those cars.

This is my track toy. After a small incident with a wall at Road Atlanta its now sporting a full cage (custom bent and installed by yours truly), race seats, 6 points, full Spec Suspension etc.

So many toys and so little time.

And yes the Panamera is even uglier in person than it is on TV. I was at the Historics at Laguna Seca this year and Porsche was the featured mark. Any true Porschefile would have been in heaven. I saw both Leno and Seinfeld wandering the paddock. I also apparently didn't take any pictures of the Panamera so this Gulf car will have to do.

Wish I knew someone at BMW to get her a test drive up there:grinpimp:

Yeah she likes smaller sport sedans...the twin turbo I-6 aint too bad either...LOL. Plus my first BMW I bought was in 1984 as a new airman in Air Force...it was a 1972 BMW 2002 tii....I loved that car and kick myself in ass for selling it.

A guy I knew at the IRS computing center in Martinsburg WV had one of the kit cars.....unless you are bent on an original the kit cars actually handle and perform better than the originals....or so I was told...but then again it was a kit car guy telling me that.

I'm considering getting a 135i cabrio to lease next summer. It's between that and a Mini Cooper S cabrio. Those Mini S's will outslalom a 911 or any Ferrari.
If I do I'll give everybody a test RIDE. I'm pretty sure no one else can drive our leases now without being a family member with a DMV record on file. Sorry Charlie.
Didn't use to be like that. When we launched the Z3 they gave each of us one for 2 or 3 days and I let my friends drive the feces out of them. Faster faster I'd tell them, you're not even stretching it yet.

But I'm sure your dealer would let you take one for a spin if he believes your a credible buyer.
OK Ron you'd better not go along with her.

I'm sure they do. I think they usually use modern drive trains and suspensions-Mustang or Camaro or something like that.

The Cobra clone with a 4.6l Ford PI would be sweet. 32 valves, twin OHC on each side. I had one in a Mark IX and it was deceptively strong. In a little Cobra with the right gearing it'd be a beast indeed.

I always wanted to do this. Mine would have a small block Ford. One of those would be a hoot on a track day.
I think they use a lot of 5.0 mustang components now. Bunch of manfr and tons of choices.
Could be done....(cough) on a (cough..cough) "reasonable" budget too.
;)

Nice toy! I hope to do a parade lap at Road Atlanta this spring with some friends.
That "wall" comment assures me I'll be doing parade laps.
