Thanks for the reply.

I'm not worried about gas mileage, I only care if I can drive around 65 on a highway without a top.

WIth all the recommendation on V8 conversions (Thanks to everyone) If I keep the F engine and just replace the transmission with 4 speed , Would that let me drive at around 65 mph ? ( My FJ40 is not currently running because if few things)

For getting a civic,Not a car person. I already have a 100 series land cruiser and 2005 lx470 for daily driving :)

I was paced at 70 mph between Austin and New Braunfels with my new 33s 4.11s and everything else stock.. Comfortable rpm at 65. top off, in the rain and i-35 wind

changing from a 3 speed to a 4 speed will not change highway at all. They have teh same final gear. Changing rear end gears to 3.7 or just going to 33s will get you that highway MPH.

I think there was a good rec above about 3.7s and 31s for a highway mall crawler.

33s are referred to rubber Overdrive for a reason.

I think 33s and a well tuned carb/engine is the answer to your desires. funny story, my 33 purchased was easily justified because my :princess: wanted to drive from Austin to Galveston and back. I didnt want to make that trip at 58 mph.

Well, you are half way there. I really want to see the off road Corvette now.:D
