Fj40 4" HFS lift kit (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I'm looking at adding this lift to my LC. Has anyone added this lift and if so are you using shims? Front and rear?
If so what degree front and rear?
The kit comes with 1 1/2 shackles

I have the HFS 4" kit and added front shims only when I installed it several years ago. Not sure the shims are needed though, the angle on my front pumpkin seems a little extreme to me. Good luck!

I added this to my 40 last year, I had to install 4" shims on the rear to solve a vibe I had around 40-60 mph. I didn't shim the front as I usually don't go as fast in 4Hi so it didn't vibrate.

Thanks for the replies. I have a set of 2 and 4 degree shims so should be covered if I feel necessary to add. I guess your drive shafts were long enough?

Bellaire- I had mine rebuilt after adding the lift, but I think he did lengthen them even though I was running them for a while without it.

Thank you, I was thinking might as well add a little length and rebuild the u-joints too!

I bought u joints from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters, good quality and a good price! Better than what my guy was gonna put it.

unfortunately, living in Costa Rica has only 1 draw back, sometimes good quality parts can be a PITA to get here. Now if you plan a trip here and bring me a set them beers are on me
