Peter,
Very Nice! I hope you directed him here, I hope that everyone considers this an international forum. :D

Answers one question for me, FJ24's (assuming the other series too) had different VIN series............

Those are original Dunlops in the front!!!!!!!

As explained to me by Alex Dios in Venezuela, Toyota produced specifically designed fire truck series, in the 20, 50 and 60 series.
They have in the model code the letter H followed by a 4.
In the FJ24, however, they where just FJ24.

I have learned something new about Land Cruisers today.
It is a nice day.

:DI think if they went through that much attention to detail, they'd have them dead on 12:00. ;p

I figured there may be some lore about the screw being set on the upswing of the hour hand - for good luck, similar to the practice chosen for the time a wedding is scheduled to take place:

"Q. Is there a special hour when we should exchange vows?
A. Chinese tradition says that couples should marry on the half hour so that they begin their new life on an upswing -- when the hands of the clock are moving up."

Coincidence? Granted the link above pertains to China instead of Japan . . . :)

When ever I install or remove VIN plate I hold the screw with a screwdriver and use a socket on the nuts. This way I don't put any marks around the screw holes. This might explain why the screw are in the same direction.
