Just bought a 2007 FJ and found that the stock aluminum wheels had the chrome peeling off of them due to corrosion. I looked at getting TRD wheels off a Tacoma, but found that the price and offset differences made them unattractive to me. So I decided to sandblast the chrome off the wheels and go to a powder coat. But the question was what color. Black? Nah everyone does black now so I wanted something different that would still be tasteful but not be confused with a Trail Teams model. I decided to go with a gray powder coat and a clear powder coat on top of that. Here is what happened: 2018-07-07 19.23.28.jpg 2018-07-07 19.23.48.jpg 2018-07-07 19.23.21.jpg 2018-08-23 12.05.32.jpg

Next I asked myself what are all the front grills painted silver like the bumpers? The retro part of a Land Cruiser is the white grill contrasting with the body color. So why not do that with my FJ? Also why are the TOYOTA letters silver? I wanted something that would compliment my '72 FJ40, 2018-07-15 21.36.06-2.jpg 2018-08-23 13.01.33.jpg 2018-08-23 12.06.03.jpg so this is what happened:

It is not too hard to do. I had a paint shop buddy paint the bib for me, and I ground the tabs off the back of the TOYOTA letters and spray bombed them with a rattle can. Then I just siliconed them back on again.

Somebody should make a bezel like the old fj40 that has embossed landcruiser! (Fj cruiser)!

Personally, I wouldn't put the name Land Cruiser on mine. I appreciate the history & lineage, but you're likely to start a feud with the LC purists out there if you put a stamped bezel on a FJC.

:worms:I'm in the "That wouldn't work for me" category. I own an FJ Cruiser; unique on it's own, and looks better than a Land Cruiser.

The bezel would say fj cruiser! Not landcruiser!

Not all early Land Cruisers had the dent.

I'm no expert but I think it was a single year that had them, 1962.
