not really school started back up so i've been busy with that but will get some work done this weekend, hopefully i can get the engine pulled sunday. I already have everthing loose, but it looks like i'm gonna have to separate the trans from the motor in order to get it out.

You shouldn't have to separate the tranny/tcase/motor to get it all out. You need a good engine hoist with enough lift and an engine leveler. I've done several this way.

Steve he is talking about taking a v-8 out of a diner vehicle.

Finally got motor pulled today, it was a pita considering that i had to pull it in a field

Motor is a 91 ford 5.8 liter 351w efi with 4 speed automatic overdrive tranny and 2.6:1 low range tcase with electronic linkage shifter buttons:D.

Heres some pics of what i had to deal with

We had to use a tractor cause a engine hoist wouldn't work in alabama mud:grinpimp:

well fellas, finally got the motor, tranny, and tcase to the shop. Dam this 5.8 liter is a huge motor. I think it will move the :pig: with ease. I haven't really got much done on the pig since school started and exams are about to start. School will end may 1, but that is when the tear down of my fj40 begins, once that is done, proably about 3 weeks. Then in JUNE, the pig project starts back up! Stay tuned!!!

Things been slow, but i'll get full speed ahead on the project by june... Here are some pics of the update, almost got motor in, mounts are made, but forgot to take pictures lol..

Hey fellas i know it's been awhile since i posted any updates, dam almost a year!!!

But, i'm pickin up another fj40 before december to use the motor out of. I'm scratchin the ford motor, its just too big and i just wanna stick with the stock toyota inline 6. Mainly because the fj40 i'm getting is a 71 model with 65,000 original miles from original owner. And it's got a working 8274 winch on it, not currently running and it's completely torn apart, but its good deal.

BTW if anyone is interested in this 71 fj40 minus motor, Let me know!! Floors are a bit rusty and rear corners have some rust, but its definetely restore quality.

Anyway, the new plan is to use the f motor out of the fj, TBI it with gm parts, Sm465 with 205. So a pretty big change in direction but IMO much easier for me. I'm in college so i get a 1 month break during chrismas.

Goal to achieve during my break from school are the following:
-Put the motor in the pig, i will tbi it later
-get the trans and tcase/ crossmember all fabbed up and installed
-Put rear dana 70 in with fj55 leafs
-Hopefully find a dana 60 by then for the front!!
-Do some bumpers and maybe even bob the rear!!
-Get some steering done

Thats enough for me, hopefully i'll get some wrenchin done in about a month, hope to be back soon with some updates!! Later ya'll
