There is a 1973 FJ 55 for sale in El Paso. Ther is no price listed and I an going to look at it this week.

What in particular should I look for as problem areas? It looked bone stock on the lot. Thanks
 
Ummm, rust! :)


What are your plans for it? Are you looking for a resto candidate or a trail pig? Rust is usually the biggest pain to deal with so I would look at all the usual rust prone areas, such as; the lower front fenders, rockers, rear quarters, roof/gutter line, etc.

Mechanicals are easier to source and replace, but rust is a bitch. Post some pics when you get a chance and we can help even more... :)
 
FJK55 for sale in El Paso

Thanks Hopefully I'll get out there today. I am nor\t sure whatr i would do with it. I have a FJ 40 and a FJ 60. it just seems logical to have a FJ 55. Perhaps I could flip it.

Shoot a digital if you can. There have been a couple that passed through here in Cruces in the last couple of years and 2 73's that were resident but left town apparently. One was pretty bad the other good. one red one brown.
 
FJ 55

It is a 1983 with a V-8 conversion and four wheel disk brakes without a parking brake. They are asking $11,500.00

Looks like it might have a long range tank. No dash pad at all. Some liberal use of expanding foam on the firewall too by the looks of it.
