Well the new spring perches finally showed up a week after I ordered them.

The Sping perches are in, drive shaft cut to right length and the traction bar installed.

Kinda hard to believe since I have been gone and dont know the guy. He came by the hosue and did it all in his mobile service/ fabrication truck. He did take the driveshaft to his shop for the cut and weld.

Thanks James! Whoever you are.

You should get the guys card and distribute it out to CVC and all the other clubs. Someone can always use that type of service and quality.

I wish s*** would get done while I was away on my junk..

Here is his handy work.

I already had the perches cut off.

He removed the driveshaft, installed the new perches, added 2 Warn 8274's, one Bellview and one Warn/Bellview winch to achive the loaded weight. I think he even threw on the Warn 9000xi for good measure. Yes, they were just laying around my shop. :D

He dialed in the pinion angle with the simulated loaded weight and then welded the perches on. He then cut the driveshaft to the correct length on the lathe at his shop and rewelded it during his lunch.

After lunch he started on the traction/lader bar. He used my extra cross member and bolted it up. The big Hemi joint is up in there. I would have shackled it, but I'm not complaining.

What is that hanging down on your tow rig?

interesting you didn't use a shakle at the top of your tracktion bar ... ( frame side )

LOL!

My wife arranged for this to all be done while I was out of town adn behind my back. I didn't know anything about it until she called with some questions. I still do not know the mobile fabricators last name. :meh:

Doesn't the front of the trac bar need to be able to move forward with a shackle? Or does the heim allow for enough movement?

Dan, go flex that out oand see what it does to your springs.

A hard mounted bar like that is going to bind up something fierce..

I plan on doing it tonight when I get home from work.

It is an easy enough fix. Should it be a long shackle or short shackle?

mostly what fits currently..

Ramp the truck as it stands, look at the springs
Then disconnect the rear bar and ramp the truck again.
get a good idea of how much movement the bar will see dring articualtion.

That will help ya get a good feel for how long the shackle needs to be.

Back up the RTI ramp or drive up it?

I'm embarrased to say that I have my own RTI ramp.
