Question - i know these are very stout. My only concern is the mounting. Admitedly I know squat about mounting them to the frame...but have you tried a jack under one side to see if it is able to support the weight of the truck? That would be the next best thing to actually having them "used" while 4x4ing.

with the ends squared off, would you rather have them angled at the ends, or tapered from bottom to top? just an idea ;)

Both?

well... if you end up making some for the fj62 let us know. i might have to make my own now. that should be fun. i would just rather buy a set because i dont have much time between school and work.

Hey guys, I'll try to get a jacked up under slider pic for you guys today, I know they are stout enough.

Jim- the wifey used the 'cheater step' for the first time and the first words out of her mouth were:

"That's the best thing you've ever bought for your truck..."!

that tooooo funny!!!!

i'm glad she thinks so. to her. as far as jacking with the sliders, i've done that plenty of times when i had mine welded on,and they were only welded in two places.

Here they are. I ran out of spacer blocks, but I tried to show that the wheels are indeed off of the ground in the second pic. I couldn've gone a little higher, but the jack started to lean (it's a POS) and I got nervous. Anyway- it's off the ground.

Very nice 2badfjs. I was actually going to do something similar. I will be using channel iron for it (it will make the welds go through the whole brace. Also a question " ? " are you using 1/4" or is that 3/8". I will be using 3/8".
On to your question about angling them. Yes I would agree with it. Give it the same contor as the wheel well (if possible with the equip. available). Let me know if you want pics when I get done.

They look great : )

Sorry, I was talking about the mounting brackets. I was wondering what thickness you were using. I will be using 3/8", thats why I was wondering. Hey if its a style you'd want to go with I wouldn't care. Your building them for people, I'm just giving my input and my plans : )
