Finally used up all my OEM switch slots (and then some)

Oh my... That video looks kind of fake... But it's still dang funny!

Well I've got everything I need for my own train horns except an electronic valve of some sort... :D

Since I want to be like you :) where did you find those generic rocker switches :console and round?

You need need to add the self destruct button!!!

I got them from rallylights.com for $7 bucks a pop :)

They're a Toyota part, so Dan could probably get them cheaper

Working on it ;)

Test Video

Nice. Where did you mount the tube amp?

No tube, the HU has a standard input that plays through the speakers

It has tone, echo and distortion settings, but nuthin spectacular :meh:

I use it to jam along with Buckethead :grinpimp:

Holy OCD!!! That thing is like a fighter jet cockpit! Nice job.

Chat and tech in one!

Back to tech...
Don't you find the GPS mounted under the rear view mirror to be a bit obstructive? Seems like it would be.

I'm wondering about the camera set up. You said you had forward, rear, left and right.
Are they obtrusive/visible from the outside?
Are the left and right pointed back as side mirror-esque or straight out?
Can the cameras be used to capture, say, rotating 1 second intervals and store them to a USB drive? Would make for a nifty travel log.

I see lots of switches connected to presumably lots of wires and circuits, but no fuse block. Have you got this covered? Where did you mount the block?

Not at all (well, nuthin you wouldn't get used to in a few minutes)

Since the wife uses it just as much as I do, it stays in the middle...

The front and rear bumper cams are flush mounted (front cam normal view, rear cam reverse view)

They're visible, but not obtrusive (they look like a peep hole on a front door of a house)

The front passenger cam is a reverse image camera pointed towards the back to get a shot of everyone's faces...

The rear passenger cam (normal view) is mounted out back and gets a forward view from the inside (the back of everyone's head and a wide angle view of the vehicle's surroundings)....

The wireless cam receiver is mounted behind the glove box and the camera can be taken anywhere within 1000 ft. radius

I have yet to receive the pan tilt cam (still on order), but it will most likely next to the center dome light for a 360* window view

Yes, however, I plan on recording real time for each camera angle...

In fact I have a leftover 8 channel 300GB 30fps DVR meant for just that (a freebie after installing camera systems on Orlando's entire City bus fleet), but the unit is just way too big for the Cruiser (VCR sized)

Looking for a smaller SD based unit, but the multi channel 30fps ones don't come cheap :(

If you can deal with 5-15fps, then there are plenty available

I see lots of switches connected to presumably lots of wires and circuits, but no fuse block. Have you got this covered? Where did you mount the block?

Each switch gets power from a fused circuit...

Either from an inline fuse holder or tapped from the fuse panel on the accessory's circuit side....

Each switch is used as a trigger only, so current flow is minimal as each accessory I have has it's own relay

At the battery, I have a main mega fuse with 2Gauge welding wire leading to the roof rack where I have the accessory fuse block and relay grid mounted in a mailbox

Looks weird, I know, but I needed sumthin weatherproof on the cheap and if it's good enough to keep my mail dry, then it's certainly good enough for all my electronic crap :grinpimp:

James Bond ain't got nothing on you! Now what was that about the r/c camera?

It's just a wireless camera that I mount onto my R/C Crawler so I can drive by monitor

It's got a 1000ft.+ range that's good through walls, so I usually drive it from the front parking lot to the back of my shop to spy on the workers ;) (it also has audio so can hear them talkin $h!t)

Crazy upgrades! love 'em! The air horns...mmmm... how do i make a setup like that without spending too much? i dont need the train volume, just almost train volume... to wake certain people from the dead driving... and to call for help when i'm stranded!

For air horns, check Howards Horns, you can find them on the internet, they have some pretty good quality stuff that won't break the bank.
As far as the electronics goes, you can use something as simple as an air conditioning relay to hook it up. You wire your existing horn wire up to one side of the relay, and the other side of the relay up to ground. Then take a heavy wire and connect from one side of the relay to the positive of the battery (preferably through a fuse) and the other side of the normally open contacts to the horn compressor. One more wire, the negative side of the horn compressor to the negative side of the battery and hold your ears when you honk that baby!!! 8o)

Oh, by the way, nice ride to the originator of this thread!!!
