I almost bought a LC when I got my 4Runner a few years ago. Not sure why I didn't but I'm here now. Ordered around Thanksgiving and picked it up Friday in Freeport.
Had awful wheels but brand new 315 Nitto Mud Grapplers but i've since swapped on some steeles an 35" Wildpeaks
The journey begins I suppose, super stoked!

Not at all, I have a JZX100 Chaser that I drifted for awhile so not so much different. In fact a bit easier with the 80 being auto
Man love it so far, a bit more space than the Runner and 35s fit like cake! May consider 37s lol

Deff diggin the 35s too, lift came with so not too sure but it has to be at least 3" since there's radius arm drop brackets.
yea, big downside to importing your own is the damn wait, its grueling and HPD inspection is about 1-2mo lead time ugh

Yea to me there's alot of trust factors at play if you end up doing the import route...
In my current purchase the seller wants me to go ahead and pay him in advance and even though I 100% know I'll pay him when I see it and it checks out I just can't bring myself to pay in full sight unseen. With an import you don't really have this choice.
As time went on and the more I looked I was getting closer to maybe trying it though lol

For sure, its a huge gamble and there's actually a decent amount already stateside too choose from.
Just mostly up northwest or westcoast. Hell there was/is one in Alief but it was a Unicorn like yours but '96....Asking $50k lol

Ah yes I found the blue one.
The 50k one was the one I was totally looking at but I forced myself to not go look at it because the more I looked at it the more I got a didn't quite trust it vibe...and that was from afar...
50k and then having to start with issues that probably would crop up is rough... cuz it's not like you could trust anything the dealer said
