1/2 inch plate now added to the frame horns for the new out-boarded spring hangers. If you will recall, the PO had FJ60 axles installed under this truck which are 3" wider than the stock OEM axles. I did not want to cut and move the axle spring perches and just decided to stay with the out-boarded spring approach.

Rear spring packs removed from the truck after work tonight. Here you can see the difference between them and the HFS 4" FJ40 rear spring packs. I stopped by my buddy Brian's shop today, Spring Works. I will deliver them to him tomorrow after work and he will have Alcan Springs make the 2 longer wrap spring leafs to the proper length for the 4" lift. He will reinstall the overload leaf back into the new pack as well.

Test fitted my HFS 4" front springs last night and found out that the shackle hanger was welded too far forward on the frame by about 3 inches. Resulted in a very angled shackle that was hitting on the hanger itself. Had been hoping to install the new Manafre rear hanger when I did the full frame-off restoration in the future, however this changes things.

Measured carefully the exact distance from the outside of one hanger to the other side prior to removal of the old hangers. Used 1/2 inch plate again to outboard the hangers. Forward to back its 42 inches center of eye to eye from hanger to hanger. Everything was clamped up and measurements double checked prior to welding.
