It will be nice to have a day where we don't have to break camp :)

Thanks for the report! Getting excited for the trip!

I'll bring my chain saw and splitting wedge.
This is what we used to split wood when I was growing up. Every once in a while the wood wouldn't split and the land cruiser would start hopping across the yard on the stuck log

Nowadays allowing a teenager to run a log splitter (alone) would be considered child abuse - back then it was just another chore:grinpimp:

I got distracted looking at log-splitting videos on youtube,... what were we talking about again? Oh, yeah - the run! Looking forward to it,

If something can maim or kill someone has made a log splitter out of it :skull:

I like the flying axes attached to a wheel - seven chances of getting your arm cut off per revolution!

Since a lot of camp site time, anyone interested in bringing horseshoes or corn hole ? I can borrow some if needed

Sounds like fun :bounce:

Directions to camping:

The turn off to Klondyke, AZ is 137 miles from the intersection of the 101/US 60.

In the town of Globe, you will take the US 70 to the east (or south not sure). Do not turn back onto the US 60. The US 60 heads off to the north east, the US 70 heads to the south east.

The turn onto Klondyke Road is between the towns of Bylas and Pima. You turn right (west) onto Klondyke Road. It is a dirt road and you will be on dirt for the rest of the trip. If you want to air down for the dirt road, there is plenty of room once you cross the train tracks (we parked in front of the Tumbleweed Plantation).

Proceed 25 miles on Klondyke Road, then turn right (north west), at the T in the road, onto Klondyke Road.

7.7 miles ahead is the town of Klondyke. Continue past the town on Klondyke Road/Aravaipa Canyon Road. Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness starts 5.3 miles from Klondyke. The camping area is 11.7 miles from the town of Klondyke. The GPS coordinates for the camping area are N32° 52.598' W110° 26.186' (32.87886, -110.43643).

It took us 1 hour to get from the camping location to the town of Klondyke.

Note: There is no cell service at the camping location. It is in a canyon, so not sure how well HAM/CB will work.

I am heading up on Thursday night and bringing three dozen tortillas made fresh thursday morning at the local panaderia.

I'll also have a bag of marshmallows & hotdogs for firetime fun.

We are leaving Saturday morning sometime to get the camp site that afternoon. We'll head home Sunday morning at some point.

I'm sure Sarah will bring stuff for s'mores.

We'll keep an eye on the thread for missing items for the potluck.

@Abigail @Chrismanjs and I are doing:
Dutch oven pizzas
Biscuits and gravy
Another breakfast that I already forgot. :meh:
And I think a burger and dog night.
@Saddletramp I am flying solo for this one. Liz could not get the time off work:cry:

This will be fun, great group!

I'm planning on Dutch Oven 3/4/5 Cheese & Macaroni, plus enough Brittan's Peach Cobbler for 2 nights - not that anyone wants to eat it 2 nights in a row, however. I don't think we've ever run out of food,...
