I'm ready.

What a coincidence that Pablo bumped this thread today. I was just looking at the trip pics in my phone this morning, dreaming of big ass fires & double rainbows in nameless locations (both willed out of impossible nothingness by the pure willpower of our combined imaginations), popped peños, epic tacos, and endless backwoods Utah scenery.

Seriously, even discounting the mind boggling scenery around us, if you stop for a moment and ponder the ridiculousness of what transpired...

We literally collectively willed into existence, out of thin air:

-A boatload of stranded co-eds.

-A full-on 180 degree double rainbow.

-In a land of zero trees, we materialized not just a little bit of firewood, or even a lot of firewood, but a whole fuggin' tree! Two nights in a row!

... is this even mathematically possible? Where's that reality chart?

Sigh...

imagine being on the pucker pinch point an hour later? when the rain came thru? I wonder how old that log was...before that score the oldest log in that area was left by Doc when the girls rode by in the boat and he showed them the ol' popes nose.

Where are the pics of the "boatload of stranded coeds"?!?!

Where are the pics of the "boatload of stranded coeds"?!?!

They are in there, all tan and sweaty, frolicking around inside the boat...

They don't really show up in phone pictures though. Steve1 might share the password to his stash of telephoto shots though.

The frolicking was nice, on jet skis, over the waves. :hillbilly:

- you are actually back there deforming the steering wheel under your crushing grip, grabbing the seat so hard with your cheeks you don't even need seat belts if you roll over, tasting the charcuterie, and toasting everything and everyone with the first beer at the end of another day in which you are still alive.

So this is close to the universal truth. We have lived to see another day. Damn. I want to go back. Given the following on this thread, it will have to be a private matter. Hmmm...October? I was kind of set on Death Valley, but HitR is there. Just sayin'.

I was thinking the same thing Andy.

Maybe we don't want to wheel with you guys either!! :p

OK, so i'm going to level with you guys....

The first HITR trip was epic. I think a lot of it was because it was so new and amazing and i was younger and more agile.

The second HITR trip was... well, adrenaline-exhausting. I was worn out from all the pucker factor and all the near death roll-overs that i felt on every tip. I thought my RTT was extra heavy the second trip. Don't know why, but when we were out i was so relieved.

I'm so glad i did it and would do it again, probably leave the RTT at home; but in all truth i would rather do the pure overlanding that we did in NV any day. IT just had me exhausted.
