I hate to run the risk of asking something that has a million post already , but I’m not seeing anything exactly like what I’m experiencing on 2000 100 series so posting while I continue to read and learn.

What I’m experiencing is with multiple key types (master, valet, aftermarket, etc) that the security light goes off but I’m getting really intermittent cranking. It almost seems to be getting worse.

Is this a security thing or an ignition issue that has something on its way out?

Some cranks are flawless and some take 10 attempts. Thought it might be my key but today it did the same thing with my wife’s key.

What is this “famous EFI fuse/relay problem” I keep seeing people mention?

What are the first few things I should check first?

It’s my wife’s daily driver with 270k so as much as I hate to…I might have to take it to a shop.

Does the MIL function during a crank/no start? quick voltage check at the 20 amp efi fuse/relay.
Type "immobilizer fix" in the 100 series search bar

The immobilizer/fusebox issue usually exhibits “crank but no start” symptom.

A starter that’s going bad often exhibits the sporadic “no crank” symptom.

Mine failed to start one time.
This bypass has been in my 2000 lc for several years without issue.
