Had a great time again this year but ended up screwing up my steering again (and the VSC lights come on as soon as I start moving) even though I took it easy...no idea whats wrong. Seems like a hell of a lot more got broken this year than the last. Terrible video below of @CakeMountain's tire popping. Still not sure how that happened since those rocks weren't sharp.

And now for what you guys really wanted to see...

Was it the sidewall that blew out of in the tread? Maybe the sidewall got pinched and then blew?

Glad my 35-470 made it out unscathed! (but only a day of wheeling)

It was the sidewall puncture and there was a C shaped tear in the side. Just bad luck since nothing below that tire was sharp

You passed our group when we were at the "T" on Saturday and Burl and I both remarked that it looked like you got your moneys worth out of that front skid plate.
hahaha it definitely gets used

If you owned a LAND CRUISER you wouldn't have had those issues :flipoff2:

Fall crawl merch is now available to order on made to order basis. This is the same style shirt and hoodie that was at the event. I’ve made a few alternate colors available, for those of you that prefer other choices. Obviously you’re paying quite a bit more than the club did, since you’re not getting 200+ of them.

Remember everything you buy with a club logo on it, the club gets a commission. Which helps you buy more cool stuff for next years Crawl!

Hoodie - dark green was the original color: Capital Land Cruiser Club - Fall Crawl 2022 Hoodie - https://reefmonkey.com/products/capital-land-cruiser-club-fall-crawl-2022-hoodie?utm_medium=product-links&utm_content=ios&utm_source=copyToPasteboard
Tee - Light Blue was the original color:

Thanks to everybody for stopping by and saying hello, and special thanks to those of you that spent money on merch :) we had a great time! This was my third year at the event, with our second year as a vendor. Next year, we will definitely be back. We will likely arrive a day earlier, and bring lots of hoodies and beanies - brrrrrr!!

And hopefully I’ll be able to tow or drive an actual Land Cruiser next year. 5 hours with a trailer in tow is a bit much for any of mine :)

.... its basically a land cruiser ... LOL... dont knock the 120 series!!

It looks as though we missed a good time--hopefully next year. I have two questions?

1. Is that an appearance by the elusive @Bloo with the grey first gen tacoma?
2. Is that a for sale sign in the window?:confused:

If I spend another $20k on it I won't either...lol. I've been eyeing a tacobox and a regear with lockers today so I can throw some 35s on it. After driving Pats 100 last weekend, I would have bought that 4 years ago knowing what I know now but too late for that.

That said I'm willing to bet it broke because of what happened last time I was at the Cove. Either that or something related to the driver side hub. The lug nuts have severely backed off twice now even after legitimately torqueing them down multiple times. The real problem exists between the wheel and the seat. LOL

That would be Tim Miner in Bloo's old Taco and yes, it's for sale.

You had a different set of wheels and tires on this time, that would rule out a bent wheel issue right?

RCLT Long Travel or bust.

Follow Paul, they said. It will be fun, they said.

Just like last year, I was trying to get this truck ready for Fall Crawl up until the last minute and it paid off! Another great time was had. I arrived on Thursday vs. Friday morning this year and liked the opportunity to ease into the weekend and pick a sweet (aka flat) camping spot. I appreciate that most everyone was very helpful and willing to share their time/tools/knowledge/hot food/etc. It sets the mood for the whole weekend. I salute everyone that survived the Wed–Friday cold weather camping! 🙂 LOL, even my tropical island hj61 doesn't like the cold and didn't want to start Friday morning but we fixed it.

Thanks to the trails my emergency brake works better; apparently all it needed was for the bracket to be bent up by a rock (no extra charge from the Cove either😉). The new front diff armor had some gouges on it instead of the front cover, nice. We didn't get to wheel as much trail as I expected but sometimes that's how it goes: trucks break on the trail and you have to be able to overcome those obstacles. Now, a handful of us have memories of helping AJ change a tire on the trail 🙂
Sitting around the campfire we always recount the stories of when someone broke something and got it off the mountain to wheel another day.

I'm grateful for meeting some more club members (AJ with the busted tire; Raj, my a-driver on Saturday; Rob with the blue 40; and many more). I'm looking forward to the next wheeling adventure already!

I never get any video of me wheeling but here are a few photos of the trip that I did manage to snap. FYI, the photo of the temperature is in celsius not American 🤪! That's Bart(?) in the glow of the campfire. On Day 2 Diff Kraken pitched his McKraken mansion next to my modest tent...the neighborhood went downhill after that

I'll get there and that's in the cards for sure long term. Lockers and buying a house are first though. Haha

Do you happen to have contact info? I believe Tim is @Jester, but he doesn't seem to get online much here.

Thanks!

Sent you a PM @KliersLC
If you would've made the event, you could've seen it in person :)
