Some screw hole in the middle sould not match. Check for gap between grill and side marker.
At least, it is what I found with a 2003 HZJ75 grill on my 1985 BJ70.

I would hazard a guess and say any grille from 1985 - 1998 would be interchangeable. Basically any leaf-front vehicle. 1999+ used what appears to be a one-piece grille and indicators.
So the grille in question [1997-98] would fit. I am about to do the same to my 1988 BJ74. Going to go to a 1997 grille, clear indicator lenses and orange bulbs for the turn signals. Also going to go clear on the rear indicators too - also with orange bulbs of course. Also considering chrome indicator housings for the front - depends on price.
Post up a pic when you're done buschmaster. And be careful out on the veldt
