10pm. Beno gets a text wanting a $4 part from a 53 year old truck and the group text blows up.
Friday am burrito run while Patrick gets lost for the first time looking for Starbucks which led to 16 texts ordering coffee via JTU

From Roswell, we headed to Capitan, about 75 miles west, to the Lincoln National Forest, where we turned onto gravel...

This is a good time to stop and give a special award to JTU’s girlfriend, who was probably shocked to find out that not only was she the only girl on the trip, but that she found herself smack in the middle of beno’s bachelor party.

From the turn, we climbed another 2000+ feet in elevation to camp. The road kept getting steeper and steeper until we reached the top at 9300’.
Ah but first we merged with the Turk coming in from the West via Trinity
While we waited here for Cam and Fireman I was peering over Beno’s shoulder at a historic sign about Billy the Kid
Finally we said screw them, let’s go see Lincoln while they catch up.
Lincoln was dubbed the most dangerous town in America as Billy and his Regulators roamed the streets for 4 years

Turns out our historian is not so big on history. Before leaving pavement, we took a quick detour to the historically preserved town of lincoln where Billy the Kid and the Regulators got into some lawlessness with a rival group of cattle rustlers (little skirmish known as the battle of lincoln).
Since Cam moves like a 3 Toe’d Sloth in the morning they were a bit behind us and likely blew through this vital piece of history well over the posted 30 mph posted speed limit.
The gravel run and climb up to first night's camp at Capitan was better than expected. Was mainly looking for somewhere close to Roswell to jump offroad after a long drive in, and this delivered in spades.
I just now figured out this is supposed to be @beno.
