I'll be ready for day trips in about a month, Sacramento here, have another knee surgery Wednesday and some maintenance issues to take care of, hopefully get my winch and mod my stock rear bumper for now, then I'm ready. Hit me up when you guys hit some day trips, I'm down!

Psssht build thread shmild thread... I lost count to what I've done and redone somewhere in 05 maybe..

Somewhere around when ROTW stopped... I stopped documenting all the mods :p

Maybe Jose will want to write and document mine with his awesome photog skillz...

Hey man I hear ya....

Jose went from 0 to 90 mph in about 2yrs flat it would seem...

My build has been a much slower draw out build / rebuild, build again type of build...

Heck I picked mine up off a car lot in Hollywood in.... 01 maybe 02 I think... I want to say some of my first posts on Mud were runny 315's with no lift.... "They said it couldn't be done back then"... Now that I think about it that is still being argued....

Point I'm trying to make is, my rig didn't get to where she sits now over night. Long process, small tweaks along the way. Not as exciting as Jose's build and also much harder to document over the course of time.

Jose has done an excellent job building his rig no doubt. And what really makes his build special is that fact that he took the time to document it. And not just a quick write up, "I installed...." He went beyond, and showed how and why he did what he did. That's truly awesome, despite the haters who seem to always throw up objections...

I can't stand a thought process that impedes forward progress and hinders others from thinking outside the box. If we didn't have more outside the box thinkers, we would all be on 3" OME and buying Joey's cup holders... ( sorry Joey not even sure there is a "witts end" version) :-p

On with the show!

Argh!! :bang: no freaking cup holders from me. I guarantee it.

Wait...are you saying I'm no better than a cup holder? :(

BTW I've had my truck since 97. It was ten years before I modified the very first thing on it.

No, he's saying "You're as important as a cupholder."

Very true! I have seen many modifications on here and through working on cars all day and am constantly trying to improve on it. I just like seeing what others have done and try and improve on it. I'm the guy that hates doing things over to improve. I had my ride for over 4 years before I found this site and never thought of doing anything to it till then. This site has greatly helped me!

Well that's because it didn't over heat the first decade you had it!

Well...not quite. The motor overheated and hydrolocked at 61k. Toyota covered it :grinpimp:
Wow, I never knew that you were overheating back at 61K. Woops, different thread.

Preview of this weekend's trip to Fordyce! We only wheeled a short section of the trail, in through the Committee exit and to winch hill 3 then back. As short as it was it took us a good 4 hrs. Impressive monster crawlers out here. Makes me feel inadequate.

I really need some lower transfer case gearing. I hate it when the truck lunges forward, I hesitate and let of the gas and it rocks back. Repeat. Every time I do trails like this I want to cut up the truck more and more.

Sick, sick, sick 80!! Incredible work. I think you should just build five of these and price these limited editions at $100k. You already know what to do and how to do it I imagine it would be easier the second, third, fourth and fifth time.

You could try using both pedals at the same time, it might make things a little bit smoother and less lurchy.

You also said "NO Way a fat 80 could fit through"... And sent me numerous clips showing tight sections....

Oh well... So did you day run it? You mentioned 4hrs of trail time.
