you could do a cantilever system...possibly? my cousin's jeep just got the cantilever from off road evolution and it is disgustingly SICK!!!!

Yeah, The Heep world has an incredible amount of aftermarket support. If we had a fraction of that stuff I'd be happy. We should consider ourselves lucky that a company even decided to look at the 80 for a 3-link kit.

just wish the coilovers were kings!

Why? Have you compared Kings and Radflos? I haven't, but based on feedback I don't feel like I'm missing out by getting Radflos. Seems like they make an amazing product but just don't have famous name like the big corporate brands and huge sponsorships (Fox, King, etc). Just the fact that Radflo pays enough attention to the 80 crowd to have off-the-shelf shock options in all shapes and sizes means they'll earn my business. King is too busy selling 4" King Kong quadruple bypass space shuttle shocks to care about us. A pair of those shocks will buy you two 80s

how do you know where to weld on brackets? just curious

That I'm not quite sure. There's no official instructions out there yet. I'm going to have to enlist the help of some suspension experts to locate all the links and brackets. Or perhaps I could bribe @bobbynelson0730 with some beer money to take measurements of all the brackets :)

can you get this kit without the radflos?

See the discussion about that starting at this post: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/4w...ull-frontal-attack.813697/page-9#post-9394431

Jose you have it all wrong...When I call King they treated me like I was their only customer! also, their prices are pretty reasonable. Fox is too big to cater to people like us, plus their customer service is a cookie cutter corp bs!

Yeah but unless somebody has done an actual performance comparison between Radflo and King, we have no basis for saying one is better than the other. Until then it's just brand preference.

I know that...i have never used Radflos but don't think i ever will. i grew up on Kings like I grew up with toyota, honda, BMWs...I will never drive anything else.....well maybe a Found On Road Dead! My friends are real big on Ford Super Dutys...Also have proven the reliability and performance. My 2006 superduty has 402,016 miles, although on its last legs...original motor and trans.

Well that's a bit unfair don't you think? To completely write off a brand/product you've never touched despite it being great based on feedback?

Heck what am I saying - I'll never touch an Apple product. Never have never will :flipoff2:

I don't know about Radflos but King machines all the parts inhouse..making it 99% made in the great u s of A.....just the damn fittings are chinese!! disappointed in that though. Shocks are shocks but the difference comes with tuning and quality parts used and different processes used to treat materials. The time taken to assemble the products...all go hand in hand.

I grew up on Apples, apple IIc, IIes....used a PC during college and will never go back to it...gave toshiba a chance, IBM, SGI...they kept on freezing up. My Macs just keep running and running. Photoshop and other graphics programs need apple! but then again apple is mostly all made in damn china again!!;(

Jose all biases aside, did you really have to cut out your fenders to fit the 37s? I have 37s 37x12.5r17 and am really interested in doing this 3 link...if I keep this tire size and not do the 13.5 like you have, do I still need to cut the fenders? I don't rub my fenders right now.

These brackets are made using American steel right? j/k well half joking. but truly am interested in doing this! but might need help fabing it up...maybe after you have done it, you could help me install mine...i'll bring the beers and moral support? hehehe

Same with Radflo. It's all in house built and assembled.

ADS is my go to for shocks and coilovers. Steve the owner used to work for King then opened his own shop. Ads makes the shocks for Slee as well, beefy s***..

all in a row like not part of the same reply

so confuse

I'm sensing some sort of "ffeine"... As in caffeine... And other words that end in such...

Then again excitement and ADD could be to blame. ;-)

-A out.

Over the last several night I have read damn near every page of this thread up to this point. I love how your skills have develops and you've continually applied said new skills to your rig. I'm on track to get a series 80 here in the next two weeks. It's has some suspension mods and some bolt on goodies, so it's a good start. I'm sure to start posting more once I get it. Again, great job man. keep it coming.

Yeah the factory shock location sits right where leafs wanna be:( no matter what we wanna do on these the damn shocks are an issue... I want my cab intact as well.

Leafs in the back and the front 3 link from 4wu would totally put the truck back in super easy to drive mode. The geometry would all be back on par... Plus, you get to be the antichrist and show all these bench builders how good they can work w a proper traction bar:D

My white 4door taco was 3link front and leafs/traction bar rear. Everything it did would be ideal for me in the 80...

On the shock towers. The ruffstuff tower is the 'perfect' height for a 37 w no flares and just a bit of clearance trimming on the fender sheet metal with a 14" 2.5 shock. You have big wheel wells now and can afford more up travel. If using those you would want a 14" 2.0 shock or 12" 2.5.

NOT a fan of that bolt on shock tower by ballistic. Fine for a shock, but not a coilover supporting vehicle weight. There's only 2 legs attaching to the frame totally just my opinion though...

As for shock brands, it's totally pic you favorite color. They all work great and the opinionsare all based on valving(ask Brian). Plenty of people have bought the biggest/baddest/fanciest shocks and were disappointed because it went in a tube buggy but was setup for a super duty...

The exception is FOA. I've owned 6 of those and the initials stand for Fawking Oil Allover, no joke. Total junk with great customer service, ironically.
