YMMV but I put BFG KO2s on my 80 and I noticed they had to use up to 6.5oz of weights on each wheel. I asked about it and the guys remarked that BFGs always require a lot of weights. They also commented on Japanese tire brands being the best balanced out of the factory. My next tires will be TOYOs or Yokohamas or another Japanese brand.I contacted BFG and Tire Rack and they don't show any stock. They're in production. Bummer.
Thanks, noted. I've been using BFG KO and KO2 for decades and am a huge fan. I'm sorry to hear you've had bad luck with them.YMMV but I put BFG KO2s on my 80 and I noticed they had to use up to 6.5oz of weights on each wheel. Not bad luck, I still like the tire just fine. Wears well, decent traction for my use, quiet…what’s not to like? Thanks, noted. I've been using BFG KO and KO2 for decades and am a huge fan. I'm sorry to hear you've had bad luck with them.
Charlie - I just got my Evo Corse DakarZero 17x8 ET 40s and am having the same debate on tire sizing. Really want to go with 285/75r17 Falken Wildpeaks but it seams many have gone just slightly smaller at 285/70r17 to eliminate rubbing and trimming. Was curious what you ended up going with and if you had to do a KDSS relo? Thanks, noted. I've been using BFG KO and KO2 for decades and am a huge fan. I'm sorry to hear you've had bad luck with them.
Following and hoping for an easy mod to 34-landI got mine the other day and they're sitting in boxes waiting for LT285/75r17 BFG KO2 to be back in stock.
I love the KO2 for my uses, and that 34" size seems like the sweet spot.
Until then, I'll keep rolling on my 33s.
I have a Trail Tailor KDSS relo kit on the shelf, but will only use it if I need to (pretty sure I'd have to notch my BudBuilt skids for clearance, if I do install them).
I have a TJM T13 bumper, which required a fair amount of fender liner trimming, so nothing to hit forward, and I removed my mud flaps and massaged that area with heat, so have clearance there. I don't think a body mount chop will be needed with 34s, but will do that if I have to.
I will be curious about your thoughts on the offset of the new wheels without spacers! As far as I know, Main Line Overland is still the only US source for Evo Corse wheels.
I got a 8" wide, +40 offset, which was what they normally offer for Tundra and 200.
I don't know, but I'm hoping that this lets me get rid of my spacers. I don't have a functional problem with spacers, but they add extra steps to brake and suspension work. Since I usually work alone, I always need to find someone to step on the brakes when I torque them.
I wanted 17", so that excluded a lot of wheels. I want more rubber and sidewall for off road purposes.
Side note that I am still struggling with tire size - reading every post I can find with search - I don't care if I have to chop the body mount, and I have a TJM bumper so front clearance isn't an issue, but I have KDSS, so that's probably my limiting factor. It seems like a 34 is the smart thing to do, but I really want 35s... Time will tell if I do the smart thing or create more problems for myself. I'm regearing to 3:91:1 with my lockers, so gearing shouldn't be a factor.
Evo Corse has a strong rally and racing heritage, and some rally race teams rely on them for big race rigs. That makes me feel good. I used to rally race, and finishing is half the battle. Rally race teams need to buy reliable equipment, so I trust these will be a quality product.
Also (and this didn't directly play into my decision) but the Methods appear to be made in China, whereas the Evo Corse are made in Italy.
Pull the rear driveshaft and do some FWD burnouts? So I found what is rubbing on hard right turns. Tire hitting the KDSS arm...
I have a Trail Tailor KDSS relo kit on the shelf, does it seem like it would help with this? Presumably it moves the arm forward. I seem to recall some Budbuilt skid cutting might be required...

Do you happen to know the lift specs on this thing? Most perfect stance I’ve ever seen in a 200.IMHO 34's just don't look big enough for these fat bottom girls. 35's seem to be the perfect size but they do introduce other possible issues for us LC guys. I go back and forth between +25mm offset and 34's to avoid issues and extra steps or +/-0mm offset and 35's with a KDSS relocate kit to get the look that I'll stay happy with.
The Cruiser below is on 35's with 0mm offset Method 704 wheels and IMHO it's the perfect look for these trucks. Decisions, decisions, everything is a trade-off.
