Where did you install the battery? Under the hood?
I’ve got it under the hood. I bought one with an under hood warranty. I hate doing electrical work, so I really didnt ’t want to run cabling for the BCDC to the back and more cabling engine bay to run the accessories.

How do you like those Stedi pro xs?
Operationally, they have some throw and are quite good. Purchase price plus international shipping was still cheaper than some of the bigger names.

The install wasn’t terribly clean. There was a little extra work required to thread the sockets through the bumper. Also, one of the locknuts got cross threaded and that turned into a whole project. There isn’t any support here in the US, so anything like lens covers, hardware, etc. requires more international shipping, so that should be considered.

FWIW I ran one big wire back. Pretty painless. Run everything under hood from your main bat.

KDSS free since ‘23

As part of this project I also rotated the tires, installed Slee’s stainless steel brake lines, and added 0.75” BORA wheel spacers.

I’m not sure if it is the stainless steel lines or the Techstream brake bleed, but the brake feel more aggressive under the same braking patterns.

Every time I have run a larger offset wheel or spaced my wheels out, I have had a little shimmy under braking. I’m not a fan, but I’m willing to give it one more go with the changes to KDSS and brake lines.

Great Thread. Thanks for documenting your journey.

I wanted to avoid a significant evolution in the electronics, but I’ve run out of tinkering. Where did you ground your house battery?

I now have a significant accessory belt squeal. It started in the spring (~72,000 miles) and died off in the heat of the summer. Now that ABQ temperatures are lowing (~75,500 miles), the issue is getting more prevalent.

Apparently, there is a backorder for the tensioner (16620-0S012) across most of my normal part sources. Partsouq has *a lot* on hand, and it is nearly the same cost. Hopefully, I’ll have this cleared up early next week.

What all did you order? I have a semi-regular squeak that I’ve started to notice over the last month or so. 86,000 miles

Under the plastic in the trunk. Or you could use the third row seat bolts.

I ordered a new belt, tensioner and idler pulley.

The idler pulley, belt and tensioner got replaced today at little more than 76,000 miles on the clock. 45 minutes start to finish including splash and skid R&R.

Earlier this week, I got under the truck and exercised the tensioner to see if it was part of the issue. Sure enough, it was sticky. The nature of the belt squeal changed significantly. Also, it was a lot looser than the new tensioner. The new one was a beast to pin.

The idler pulley did show a little play.

In sway bar related news, I’ve dropped the front bar and removed the 0.75” spacers. My Dobinson’s 33mm rear bar should arrive tomorrow.

A little early morning compare and contrast between the OE rear sway bar and Dobinson’s Part # SB59-1929.

The Dobinson’s key came with axle bushing install shims which is convenient. They are nearly the same thickness at the Dr. KDSS BOTCK bracket which balances the spacing on the left side of the axle.
