Sent at 4:20 too -- well done, sir.

I completely agree as to the near worthlessness of the reflectors. To be honest, I'd be as likely to go to them as I would the Toyota first aid supplies or the pliers included with the tool kit; however, unless Toyota comes out with an OEM "smokers" kit custom fitted to the LC tailgate's integrated storage I don't think that's where I'd stash it...

As cool as the Cool Box is, I'd rather a proper center console storage deal.

Also in that box I have a safety vest, some gloves, and a garbage bag, wish it was big enough to stash my snow brush/ice scraper.

It seems like it would be a good place to stash a First Aid Kit as well, kinda like what comes with the Xterra.

@ 21"L X 6"W X 2" deep ....couple dog leashes + some poop bags - otherwise nearly worthless.

Cool box up front will probably stay warm.

My jumper cables would need to go on a serious diet.

Yeah, I'll see if the cool box ever gets any use. While it's a neat concept that space could definitely have been utilized differently or at least been designed to be removable... I really liked the center console in the Sequoia -- you could fit a family of four in there. It would have been great if Toyota could have squeezed that into the LC...

I keep jumper cables. Not for me of course but for my wife, my mom, my sister, and women I work with.

I have road flares, a nice gerber axe, towel and gloves stashed in there.

At first I was a little bummed that my 08 has the "regular" center console. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I would almost NEVER use the cool box and that the massive storage I have will most definitely get used. For those of you with the cool box, I'm sure you can remove it and order the insert to go inside your existing console shell. Since it's just plastic liner with no wood grain or leather, the console parts are probably more reasonable than you might think...

I used it on the last trip. Wife put some milk in there with a loose cap. She forgot it was in there. I found it with spilled spoiled milk a week later. Bathroom cleaner got out the spill and vinegar got out most of the smell took three cleanings with the vinegar to get out all the smell. Then some cologne to get rid of the vinegar smell. I will use it again in the future, but keep an eye on what goes in and clean up any spills when they happen. Yes I could live without it.

Beer keeps cold in there for after a long back country hike. And baby formula

We do beer, breast milk, cheesecake etc! After a long hike on a hot day to get your gatorade/captains damn near ice cold in ten minutes is priceless, just saying!

I checked with the dealer I bought mine from, more than $1k in parts alone, I don't remember the exact #. Apparently it's not just an insert, but the entire console.

Has anyone popped the plastic off the tailgate and see how much MORE room is behind the factory storage panels?

Here's what the inside looks like. I banged mine up when trailer came off the ball.

BTW... Anyone need a lower tailgate???

Thats a ton of unused space!

Edit: Good grief, Wagon Gear is proud of those things, aren't they?!

Beer and bottled water go in the cool box. Jumper cables are tightly coiled and stuffed in the space behind the first aid kit access panel (yes, it will actually fit).

Put whatever you want/can fit in the secret compartment beneath the cup holders.

The tailgate storage area can serve other purposes.

Good taste in handguns and NFA goodies. That a USP40T or USP45T? I have a 40T for my Octane45HD. Love that combo.

Thanks. It's a 45T, and yes, with the octane, it is a super sweet combo. With wire gel, I can shoot it in my back yard.
