Sick build Elliot! PM'd ya

The drivers side is completely done! Feel free to flame my yellow bumpstops. :D I got the knuckle seal issue figured out. For some reason it got all wavy when I bolted it down (maybe wasn't lined up right). The passenger side will be done in a couple hours once the paint on my knuckles/steering/etc dries.

Aside from a couple of brake hoses that had to be special ordered, the front axle is DONE! I'm glad too, I was getting tired of messing with it. Setting all the bearing preloads, fishing out cone washers, blah blah blah.

So the front axle build:

Knuckle job (bearings, seals, etc)
Inner axle seals
Wheel bearings, hub seals and races
Cleaned and painted housing
3" medium duty leaf springs
Appropriately matched shocks
Extended swaybar endlinks
New tie rod ends
Steering cleaned and painted
New coiled breather hose
4runner calipers
New FJ rotors
New rubber brake hoses (the OE ones were shot)
1.25" wheel spacers
17" alloy wheels from 2007 4Runner
285/70/17 BFG A/T (temporary)
Lots of getting dirty...see before pics. :D

After I get the calipers plumbed, I'll be moving onto the rear axle. I'm thinking that will be much less time intensive.

Elliot lookin good bro! nice work.

like the Blizzaks in the pics too ;) cant beat them in the snow with Quattro .. perfect winter setup

when you starting on the rear axle?

Thanks Milo. I'm hoping I'll start on the rear this week/weekend. It shouldn't take as long considering all I'm going to do is clean it up, adjust brakes, new e-brake, and suspension. We'll see how that goes.

We gotta get you up here to tune that 2F!

woah that is nuts! gotta be careful and use the correct sized stands!!

Yeah Elliot im stoked to get up there whenever you're ready and tune her up with a new carb and a desmog!

im doing a new radiator and fan clutch this week..

good luck on the rear

Holy crap, how very interesting. Well, I typically use other means of backup stands and stay as far from under the vehicle as possible. I'll definitely keep that in mind though, thanks for the heads up!

Holy hell. I have a pair of 6t 'stands and never thought twice about them. I'll have to go look at them again!

Elliott, your truck is far too clean. Definitely not fair:flipoff2:

After messing with the excel spreadsheet of mods and $$$ spent so far I'm happy this hasn't been a huge hit to the wallet.

I could drop more than that just on building a front D60. :D

That's pretty good ... Usually it's much higher for the quality and quantity of work you've done..

BTW -- Did you get your seat covers from the wet Okole's website ? Which ones did you get? Too many choices.

Hi Elliott

I am finishing patching up my desmog, used a trollhole carb, and I wanted to know when you eliminated the PCV is the filter thing in the first pic hooked up to where the L shaped pipe comes out of the block for your pcv? Where did you get the filter, is it generic from a parts store?

Oh and what did you do with the hose coming off the hardline by the brake booster? These are the two last things I need to address and then it is on to body work. Thanks. Your 60 is looking great.

And for the record, here is an MS Paint schematic of my hoses. This is running an HAC, no BVSV's and no PVC/EGR valve.

That is a generic filter that most auto parts stores should carry. As you can see, it is coming off of the elbow from the pushrod inspection cover. It's working great so far.

As for the line coming out by the brake booster, it is not connected to anything. However, to keep water from getting in there I ran a small length of hose that loops around and faces down.

Hope this helps.
