After needing to use a fire extinguisher in a emergency situation last week I can say these Elements are worthless. I had replaced my 5lb ABC extinguisher in my truck with one and all it did was provide a smoke show with no affect on the fire itself.
Below is a video with a comparison of a standard ABC extinguisher. You can see that you have to be within a foot of the fire with the element and it still isn't that great.

Oh no! Thanks for your feedback. Hope everyone is safe.

I'm putting back the 5lbs extinguisher in the truck.

I wouldn’t discourage anyone from having a traditional extinguisher, but that video showed the Element doing exactly what I would expect it to do 🤷🏼‍♂️

Still good feedback and I’ll plan to fight fires with multiple options.

I should see if my company still has the fire extinguisher simulator. It’s a little cheesy but works good for training. The element worked as expected for a vehicle. I have seen 2 fires put out with them.

Never used a Element but it looks awfully like a Chimfex chimney fire extinguisher at 2x times the cost.

I was glad to have an element near by when I needed it. Didn't leave any residue either which was nice

it seems similar in design, but the element can put out electrical and grease fires, which is a useful ability. They must charge more because it has extra unicorn dust in the tube. ;)

It’s been exactly one year since I posted up something about these Elements. Here is a new video by a cruiser / off-roader that demonstrates how effective different types of extinguishers are.

Wow, thanks for sharing, Matt!

5# dry chem can put out a lot of fire if it’s in a reasonable area. I am a big fan of having a pressurized water can around too. They spray hella far, are re-fillable, non toxic obviously, and could be used for other stuff not fire related. They are big and heavy though. Not the best for class B/C, but having one in the home is good.
