Hello, thanks to the DT headers thread from a few days ago I impulse bought a new set of headers for my UZJ100W. I knew that there wasn't much out there aftermarket for the US spec in terms of headers, and I was excited to find a set that would fit for my JDM model.

One thing that I didn't take into consideration until I watched some install videos is the EGR piping that comes off of the headers. I noticed that for both the RHD and LHD models, this aftermarket company doesn't have EGR pipes coming off of theirs. I emailed them about it, and they advised that most australian models have the EGR deleted. They said I would either need to modify the headers or block the EGR.

I didn't think this was too much of a big deal, as I had seen EGR delete kits that Toyota makes and I had one bookmarked for the future anyways. It turns out that kit and all videos associated with EGR deleting are for the diesel engine. When I got home I popped my hood and started to poke around, but the heat shields completely block all view of piping.

Frankly I feel like a bit of an idiot right now but I genuinely don't see any signs of a EGR valve. I'm used to seeing it either near the throttle body or attached to some part of the upper intake manifold. The motor is so busy with such a variety of hoses and pipes that I'm not sure if I'm overlooking it, or if it actually just doesn't exist on JDM models.

Long story short, if someone wouldn't mind snapping a picture of the location of their EGR valve it would be very helpful.

Thanks in advanced!

Quick search of 2UZ EGR

Quick search of 2UZ EGR

I did search, and googled, but got different results- I never came across that thread though so I guess I picked poorly on the search terms. This install video is what really had me doubting:

I assumed the pipe above the header thats behind the shield was the EGR piping, but it also was a later model year.

No EGR valve on our 2UZ engines, at least non-VVTI.

..and that makes a lot more sense, because the video description says that model is VVTI

thank you both for settling my anxiety
