Sweet looking rig! I was very lucky to see this in person.

I was amazed how quick it fired up and how it purrs like a kitten.

Maybe next time I'll have time to go for a ride!!!

I have first dibs if you ever decide to sell! Ha Ha!!!

Keep the updates/pictures coming!

Thanks for the kind words Steve. Us Midwest guys have to stick together! Just because I don't "need" a go-anywhere vehicle doesn't mean I can have one!

Been a while so time for an update. I sold my house and all of my toys (except for the FJ60) and have moved into a rental while building another house. We wanted another project and I fancy myself a part time general contractor so why not.

Time to update the sound and a few things on the inside. I added 4 USB ports to the console and an inverter with AC power to the rear seats and cargo area. I'll be installing a CruiserCrap console in the near future so pay no attention to the hole that my kid kicked in the back ofthe console. Sorry for the crappy pictures.

I also replace the 80's Alpine radio that was in the car when I bought it to a Sony unit with a built in amp and some JL Audio speakers. No amp required and this thing sounds great! I can finally hear my radio over the 1HDT. If you want good clean, clear sound without an amp and "kicker" this is a great solution.

Last update for now...I was able to get my Webaso unit to fire from my Arctic Start remote start/security system. This was beyond my ability so I had to have a dealer set it up but basically the trunk release button now kicks on the Webasto for 15 min independent of the remote start. So now on cold mornings I can get the Webasto without having to get in the truck. They could not figure out how to have the remote turn turn the Webasto off so they set it on a timer. I'll take it.

Jake Looks great! Let me know if you need photos of my Crusier Crap console install.

I'm going to copy your tie down designs. I also like the idea of the USB ports on the rear of the console.

Thanks man! Us Cargo was the best deal for the tie down stuff. Please PM me or send me the link to your CC console install. Much appreciated!

There is a small radiator mounted in front of the regular radiator and a pump that moves the water from the intercooler to the heat exchanger (other radiator) in the front of the truck. EGTs sit at about 300 when idling, 400 when cruising, 600-700 when accelerating hard. No mountain passes in IL but Tor said that he could not get the EGTs past 1000 no matter how hard he beat on it.

Hey, I just found your thread from a google search. I just got done talking with Tor about intercooling my 1HDT 80 and he suggested his water to air intercooler. Do you mind if I pick your brain a bit? I'm excited because I think we have almost an identical setup. I'm on a Gturbo Grunter, boosting 18psi now (down from 23 because, according to Tor, I need to upgrade to a high flow intake). So, here are a couple questions, if you don't mind:

1. Are you running the stock 1HDT aneroid or Tor's? (and which profile are you running on the aneroid?)
2. What boost are you running?
3. Did you install the intercooler yourself? If so, how hard was it to install? How did you run power to the pump? (is there a fancy controller or does the pump just cycle when you turn your rig on?)

Any information you can give me would be a huge help, as I'm seeing 1100-1200 degree EGTs under acceleration right now!

Thanks,

Living in a rental without a garage blows! It's hard to get anything done. A friend was kind enough to lend me his heated space to install a CruiserCrap console. Most of it went really well. I think after 8 cans of Guinness I may have made a couple hasty decisions but that's how the cookie crumbles I guess.

I cut and drilled 1" aluminum angle iron and mounted it to the 4 existing console mounting holes with new hardware. I also used the brackets provided by CC (originally for a 40 I think) to attach the console to the aluminum angle. The holes in the back of the console lined up perfectly with bracket. The bracket itself needed to be trimmed (as seen in the pictures) for the console to sit at the right height and be level.

The front bracket needed no trimming at all but the holes in the bottom of the console needed to be relocated.

I'm not super happy with how I decided to get the inverter installed. It was a little too big to fit in the openings but fit the space almost perfectly once I got it in there. I ended up deciding to cut the hole in the side of the console to get it in and also because there was no way to get to it to turn it on and off or plug anything into it.

I've got to clean it up and drill holes for the USB ports front and back. When get to that I'll probably make up a plate to cover the inverter but allow enough room to turn it on and off.

An update but no pics...I know boring. I finished the install of the CCrap console by burying the wires in the picture above under the carpet and drilling for the 4 USB ports (2 in the front and 2 in the rear. Looks a hell of a lot cleaner now.

I also chipped out the old roof seam-sealer and applied new. Holy holy this was a pain in the arse! The roof was in great condition under the sealer but the sealer was tired in needed to be addressed. My paint guy touched up the new sealer and a few other chips and we are ready for summer!
