Mike,
Does it stay engaged once its locked (like a factory toyota locker) or does it unlock once it loses power. I know that I prefer spools but thats on a trail only rig. If it would stay locked like a toyota locker, it would be a sweet setup.

I know I had more in time and money in my 80 elocker swap than the price of one of these lockers. Plus IMO the rear factory 80 locker is an inferior design, this locker is a much better design.

BTW, as far as I know, no american diesel truck has ever left the factory with a 60, They all had 70's,80's or 14bolts. Real diesels need real axles :flipoff2:. With that said, can you get one for a 70. I know the owner of that fine green ford in the shop is trying to figure out the best way to lock the rear axle up.

A reliable, easy to bolt-in elocker is exactly what I want for my rig. Personally I'd rather not have to deal with the arb compressor and hoses. If this product is dead reliable and the company really backs up their products I would buy one. As to the cost, it does not seem unreasonable to me if it performs really well and is super reliable.

Any idea how hard this is to install compared to the aussie locker or the arb?

I have a pair of these sitting in my wardrode.
I havnt got around to fitting them yet,
But from reports ive read of them in the big trucks you guys have got over there(chev's / dodge's & jeeps) I havent found a single complaint.
And the big supprise when opening the box is the 3 year warrenty.

ARB have changed there design & there falling apart over here.

The price's are set by harrop & they are the major supply'r to our V8 supercar series & dont give a rats how dear they are, But you will get a good product from harrop.

Oh by the way ARB charge us over here $1400 for 1 of there locker's, so there's not that much of a price difference.

Questions / Thanks

We should be able to get any lockers in their product line however they are all still in Australia at this point. Ironman has them in stock in Melbourne and ready for their next container if we get enough interest.

Please fell free to ask any questions and we will do our best to answer them or we can pass the questions on as needed.

Thanks,

Soooo...the Ironman catalog shows availability for 60 series through 1988, provided later carrier bearings are used. Can you confirm availability and ratios for an 88 FJ62? Also what is required to retrofit bearings.

Thanks,

You can install it in the rear of any 60 or 62 provided that it has a full float axle.

As far as the bearings go you just have to use the later model bearings with the larger ID.

ARB's are falling apart? Any more news on this?
So should I buy some older ones from somewhere?

That would be more than I would pay to get lockers. Nice product though.

Bump for revived interest

I have a friend who has the e-locker in the rear of his 3/4 ton Chev. Being a 2wd truck, when he needs it he really needs it!
I am locker-less right now and it will most likely be my next purchase for my 80. That being said at $1600.00/ea +extras and shipping I doubt this will be my choice. Which is rather unfortunate since they seem like a much better option than an ARB.

Aussie locker!!!!

We are still waiting on the 2 test units that we are supposed to be getting. Once we have them in and installed we will get you all an update.

Well, we got.......1.

Brian has it in the back of his 80 now and loves it. We can get them but the trip from Auz takes a while and Ironman is hesitant to bring the in without pre-sales.

Whats with the hassel of running air lines?

You still have to run split tube armouring to your diff weather its covering blue air line or electrical wire, an arb is battle proven, and if like me you already had the compressor there for airing up then its also cheaper.

Not trying to bash your product, but the price?

I dont see any downsides to installing a compressor, if you already see the need to lock your axles then you obviously arent just running down to the local quickymart for a squishy.

Just my .o5 worth, and thank you come again. ;p

To each his own.

I have installed plenty of ARBs for customers but you will never find one in MY truck, and I already have air as well. I don't like air for lockers because if it leaks you are SOL. They can leak at the compressor, solenoids, lines, and internally in the diff as well. Also if you happen to crush or break on of ARBs proprietary air lines and you don't have one of ARBs repair kits you are SOL.

With electric lockers even if you do break or crush the wires you can repair them with a pocket knife and some tape.

I'm my opinion air is good for certain things but locker activation is not one of them.

Very interesting but why the crazy high price. I see eaton electric locker for other axles at around 800 a pop..........why the price difference?

Mostly because the Cruiser specific lockers are only available in Australia. The exchange rate sucks at the moment and they have to travel a long way to get to us.
